      My parents surprised me with one when I turned 10 😂
      (I had wanted one for like 4 years but never asked because I knew they where expensive and I was a frugal child 😂)

    I’ve always been able to do giants but I never waited for my tap so other girls bullying me about it but now thanks to Coach Meggin will be able to show them who’s boss

    Thanks so much for the help. I just did my first giant on the high bar, but I keep closing my shoulders. Watching and listening to these tips helps me understand what I have to do to fix that. At my gym we don’t have anything to help prepare us except baby giants and drills.

    What do grips do? Do they help you not get blisters? Cause I get really bad ones

      InTheEyesOfMadison not necessarily. I mean they do prevent getting rips a little, but mainly to help stay on better. They feel better than doing stuff on the bars without dowels/grips. You have to get used to it.

    Long hang pullovers help you get giants stari from a cast do a big swing down make sure your feet touch the ground sometimes you may acciedently go in a giants while doing long hangpullovers be aware of that:)Coach mannie

    They help you work bars longer especially for older gymnasts. The older the gymnast is and the more they grow, the heavier they get. More weight on the bar translates to more friction on the palm = rips :). Grips don't prevent rips - they only do to some extent, nothing really can except good care of your palms between training.

    Today i totally failed a giant because when i shift, i hop my hands and today i tried it with straight arms and obviously hopped my hands but they didnt make it back onto the bar so i stayed in a handstand but didnt stay gripped on the bar and i landed right smack on my neck and i heard crack a little bit like the sound when you crack your back and it still hurts on the left side of my neck when i look down or nod my head

    Super late but when I was trying giants on strap bar with my coach spotting me I kept falling straight down onto the bar and not going into a full giant. Any tips on how to fix that. One more question when I am trying the giant should I be thinking of it sorta like tap swings.

      I am not the creator of this video obviously, but in order to not fall right on your head especially on strap bar, you have to lock out your arms, if you are stuck on top of the bar, you will just fall back onto a mat or into another swing. And yes, think baout tap swings in your giants.

    I’ve been practicing for months and I still can’t get it! I cry every time because I waste like 30 min trying to get it. I’m just so scared of hitting the bar I pike too much and don’t have enough momentum to get around

    Hi Coach Mannie, my long hang pullover happens from a tap swing and our long hang pullover helps us get to front support on the high bar so I would not be at any likelihood of going into a giant ;). Basically, I do a squat on, jump to high bar, swing forward/back, and on the 2nd swing, go around...but then my coach says I don't keep my shoulders open...and when I did and she spotted me (she did most of the work), I got round but when I did it on my own, I couldn't.

    Elsie Yip I don't recommend u do. But if u want to do it make sure the bar is the right size and also make sure u have some solid, good giants on a proper gym bar, and if you are learning to do giants learn them at the gym with a coach or it could be dangerous.

    I’m only watching this because I’m a lvl 6 gymnast and all my friends are getting cast to handstands from a kip and without a kip I feel like there all becoming better than me yesterday my best friend got her Giant SHES NEVER DONE A GIANT ON THE WOOD BAR ONLY THE STRAP I’m so sad because all my friends have there cast to handstands and I only have a kip they have free hip circles I have a back hip circles they keep telling me “oh you’ll get it “ “it’ll come” “just keep trying” IVE BEEN TRYING FOR 2 YEARS I STILL CANT DO A CAST TO HANDSTAND THEY GOT THERES LIKE A YEAR AGO
