Jana Novotná being consoled by the Duchess of Kent in 1993 to being handed the trophy by the same lady in 1998 is top of the list for me. What a great competitor - RIP.
That's a really great selection - emotional enough and over. Huge respect to Sir Andy and Roger Federer for a long and prolific career and superlative tennis on grass.
Goran's win will always be a special one! Ranked at 125 at that time and to come in as a wild card and win the championship is so special..that too beating very significant names enroute to his finals!! Memory etched for ever!
Ivanisevic also cried in 1992, after losing against Agassi a match he clearly desserved to win... His victory 9 years after was juste incredible, being out of the top 100, coming as a wild card, and then climbing the title when no one awaited him. This tournament has definitely something special
Sampras winning in 2000 and breaking the all-time Grand Slam titles record with the fading lights, camera flashes, and emotional parents attending a match of his for the first time looking on is the OG "history has been made" moment. Should have been included.
Thats why the grass at Wimbledon is so green, its because of all the tears! The most loved Grandslam in tennis. Sending lots of love from South Africa 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
My heart broke for Jana. I couldn't believe how well she was dominating Graf and then how she crumbled under pressure. I'm happy she won eventually. May she rest in peace.
Jana novotna showed such emotion when she lost, then again when she won and became friends with the Duchess that will always be a special moment ,and of course Andy Murray’s two wins aswell
Nothing beats Ivanisevic's win in 2001. Was a Fairytale. Achieving a lifetime ambition at the twilight of his career against all odds! Watched it live when I was a teenager and it still inspires me.
I always loved Andy Roddick. I had to go to a three couples joint 50th wedding anniversary on the afternoon of his Wimbledon final. My blind cousin Dan, who is a huuuuuge sports nut took a small radio with him and was listening to the Wimbledon final surreptitiously during all the speeches etc. I kept going up to him and asking him the score 😉
That year wimby decided to give him a wildcard entry, don't expect anything at all from him since he's at the end of his career. But I guess destiny finally smiled at him, so did million of tennis fans, two very emotional victories and a goodbye to one of the greats in this sport at the end of the millennium and then the beginning of 21th century... What a emotional roller coaster ride during that period!
Andy finally got his Wimbledon. I couldn't stand seeing him broken up again. Roddick took his whippin like a man and smart assed about it. That's the American spirit we don't cry in public😢

Pete, Steffi, André all of the 90s moments are missing. Pete's record 7th was quite emotional for him should have been included, he was one of the greats until Roger supassed his record. They do one for each decade!
Wade 1977; Jones 1969; Graf's first Wimbledon; Becker's first; Borg's 1976 or 1980; Drobny winning Wimbledon, a much-loved man among the British public, similarly Martina winning in 1978 with all the troubles about citizenship she was facing; Goolagong 1980!
Andy’s 2012-2013 Wimbledon story is just incredible. From tears of sadness to tears of sheer joy.

Beautiful video. I’m glad Jana got her victory as well. May she RIP. Rybakina brought me to tears.

I always had a liking for Goran Ivanisevic and seeing him win this was just one of the best finals.
Ivanisevic also cried in 1992, after losing against Agassi a match he clearly desserved to win...

I'll never forget Ivanisevic FINALLY winning Wimbledon back in 2001 - it was the most glorious of moments.
😀
Nope! The great Pat Rafter deserved to win the tournament 😡
Excellent to the Grigor. We have opposing views.
My all time favorite! The backstory… The drama…. The crowd…. Just everything.
Tome it was a problem. Because Goran and Pat were both my favorite tennis players on that time.
1:24 "And finally after years of under-achievement Federer wins Wimbledon." That sounds so weird now...
Haha I thought the same🤣🤣🤣
Yeah, what? He was 21 years old when he won his first Wimbledon 😅 saying "years of underachievement" about a 21-year-old is a joke

Absolutely!
Pete was always a pure class act throughout his career. Miss watching Sampras and Agassi battles. Love them both.
Indeed
Rafter was such a class act. There is something to be said about being a class act in this sport!
Very true!!
Indeed. A good sport in defeat. I loved the way he was happy for Goran.
Jana and Ivanisevic are the two will always live in my mind!
Totally agree
Same here. Their only slam and I saw them lose a few times during crunch. Remember Jana crying and finally 1998 and also Goran's 2001. Memories!

Yes we do. And Roddick cried when he won the US Open.
For me the most emotional is when one wins his or her first grandslam!!!!
Rybakina brought a tear to my eye!!!
