- President Trump will be pausing the planned tariff on Mexico for one month, and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced she will be sending members of the National Guard to the U.S. border to combat drug trafficking.

He is still in breach of the contract that he himself signed.
As president, Trump negotiated and signed the USMCA into law on January 29, 2020 :
Any party can unilaterally withdraw from the USMCA.
To do so, a party must provide written notice of withdrawal.
The withdrawal takes effect six months after the notice is given.
Upon withdrawal, the agreement remains in force between the remaining parties.
Within the United States, the process of withdrawing from international agreements like the USMCA involves both executive and legislative branches.
While the President can provide notice of withdrawal, implementing such a decision may require congressional action, especially concerning domestic laws enacted under the agreement's framework.
To Trump, a signed contract means nothing. He violated hundreds of contracts with companies he did business with, changing the terms at a whim.
