Such a big difference between Ayala and SM build cities. SM just keeps building malls and condominiums whereas Ayala develops many green space and little parks around their malls and buildings. I feel SM just making Manila looks ugly. Ayala builds the infrastructure like Ayala One Hub, many parks etc. I hope SM becomes less greedy and think about building greener cities.
SM is yet to build a little city with it's new reclamation project so we still don't know what it will become. If ever the bay area is ugly, it's because of POGO. Their condos are not pretty. I don't know who owns the land and why are there no green parks. 😊
Agree with the Ayala’s green architecture designs. Their malls in Tagaytay and Davao City (Abreeza) use green architecture, love the plants surrounding the mall and their condo bldg. Id like to add Azuela Cove in Davao City too, which is an Ayala Land. A very nice place for picnic and exercise
I have driven these places few many times while in the Philippines. I was there back in May, and I can't wait to go back again in a few weeks. Happy New Year! Mabuhay Philippines. Aloha from Hawaii
Indeed. Without the old and not so clean communities of Manila, this certainly is a First World image, one that even in few First World countries, you don't see. The world Bank scrapped the term Third World for most of Southeast Asia including the Philippines and uses "developing" to describe them. The developments are ongoing as reflected by many cranes and new little super modern cities we see sprouting. Unfortunately still, we see tons of beggars. It is up to the government to get rid of them and help them. It is unsightly to see people begging in our really beautiful and modern city.
Very high development country Manila is the luxurious and modern city in south east Asia Very clean and organized Look like Hong Kong and New York City Watching from Thailand
NOW THIS IS A CHANNEL TOURISTS SHOULD WATCH. It correctly names it's locations, and uses good quality equipment that makes the video look stable and crisp enough. Good job, Ferwasthere!
Thank you for this beautiful video! Indeed, this is correctly called "METRO Manila" (formally, the NCR) because it features locations from the various cities in the region. I hope more people will sub and view your videos because they provide correct information and will be helpful guides if they do travel to this region. You are among the more responsible ones here unlike many others who lazily call everything 'Manila' just because they are walking on concrete. Cringe. More power to you and your channel! I enjoyed watching this one. ⭐ 👍
I hope there will be a district that mimics Sino asian street scenes like in Seoul, Ho Chi Minh and Tokyo Ginza . Shops are accessible outside and a walkable sidewalks
Makati is more pedestrian friendly than BGC. Makati has walkways and underpass. As a resident of BGC, Makati CBD is still my preferred destination for meeting friends and meetings.
True. That is why I choose makati over bgc. Because I love to walk and exercise. :) but I love hanging out in bgc as well… it has newer establishments.
The fact that BGC has none of that (overpasses and underpass) says a lot about who's more ped friendly. Apart from Ayala Ave, Makati is pretty much a pain in the ass to get to and fro. In BGC, you can pretty much cross any street (or road) without hassle. Try going from Salcedo to Glorietta and see how many avenues you'll have to cross over. In BGC, each street has ped xings (plural). Not to mention that the pavements are way wider and the roads with proper road markings. Dude, it's not even close.
@@exgeeinteractive I love makati. In makati, you’d feel like you are still in the Philippines while enjoying all the modern amenities. Like BGC, Makati has wide range of restaurants and pocket parks and gardens… the office buildings have food courts, and there are lots of malls… from Ayala ave. The circuit makati is close by… has lots of shops too… near it, is the wet market where I buy fresh seafood, and veggies not only half the price of what is in all of BGC, more like 10-20% of its price. Makati is also very accessible to All cities. BGC is like a bubble isolating you from the rest of metro Manila… While I enjoy BGC for what it is, I’d still choose to stay in makati (Ayala ave) it still makes more sense to me. Well, it’s probably good that we each have different preferences. That way, we’re spread apart… and not live in just one city. ;)
@@JB-xm8qi BGC is a bubble and I agree. And in terms of land area it's pretty much the same as Makati CBD. Heck, I prefer Makati too but it doesn't change the fact that the former is more pedestrian friendly. It's designed to be walkable. Accessibility is another topic by itself, as getting inside and out of BGC is an absolute nightmare. Now, if we could only connect Makati CBD to BGC (and Ortigas) that'd be great. Who doesn't want a 5 min travel time from One Ayala to Central BGC
While I agree that a lot of sidewalks are spacious, the existence of underpasses is not a good sign of walkability. It just shows that the area prioritizes automobile movement. It also inhibits people who are visually impaired and those who are in wheelchairs to go around (I am aware there are crossings for them even for those who work around the area, but what stops it making it accessible to everyone else?). Making the roads crossable for everyone is still ideal in being pedestrian-friendly.
