Since you love beautiful sets and great choreography, Black Swan should be your next video. But then, check out the trilogy of MVs from Agust D, which is the solo music of Suga, one you said had swag. The trilogy is Daechwita, Haegum, and Amygdala. They're meant to be watched in order.
8:23 - The Rap Line is Suga (sitting alone in the green-lit room that caught your attention with the skylight above and below), RM (next up with the rap in the pocket of Chocolate Cheeks and Chocolate Wings), and J-Hope (rapping in the museum when you asked the question.) The Vocal Line is Jin (the oldest who is staring at the painting of the rebel angels), Jimin (blue jacket with scarf snatching up everyone), V (the tempter), and JK (the youngest of the group).
If you love choreo then watch the dance practices. They really are amazing. If you love videography then watch the behind the scenes shooting sketches. ARMY love extended reactions.💜
This Mv has so much symbolism in everything. You should check out the explanation video below. It’s impressive how much thought they put into it. RM (leader of BTS and a genius with IQ 148) wrote this song after reading Herman Hesse’s Demian (a coming of age tale that focuses on topics of one’s humanity and spirituality ). He had all the guys read the book. They all participated in the theme for the MV and the choices. I loved the organ scene, the shot looking down on it and the banquet set up lighting. Group leader RM explained: "The harder a temptation is to resist, the more you think about it and vacillate. That uncertainty is part of the process of growing. ["Blood Sweat & Tears"] is a song that shows how one thinks, chooses, and grows." How one grapples between good and evil. BTS has a Rapline (RM, Suga, J-hope who write and produce the most) and a vocal line (JungKook, Jimin, V, and Jin who also write). Their work ethic is beyond. Their talent , effort, and attention to detail draw you in, but their sincerity to make the world a better place and their brotherhood make you stay! My favorite MV is ON: Kinetic Manifesto. Location, camera work and choreography are spot on. This also highlights each one. But Magic Shop lyrics are my favorite. a song written for ARMY to give us hope and comfort when we need it most. Hi There. I think it's time you look at "A Guide to BTS Members: The Bangtan 7" by Taylor Mari. It gives you an insight into each of the BTS members musical talents and their personalities as well as an introduction of their journey as a group. Thanks for the reaction! 💜

I agree! Black Swan is beautiful but Save Me is an amazing piece of work! To choreograph the camera work with the dancing and battling the elements for a one shot take is impressive!

You would love their dance practice videos. Not only do you get to see the full choreo, but there is also something so satisfying about hearing their shoes hit the floor at the same time. One thing I noticed that was very smart is that I’m 99% sure they repurposed the room in Fake Love that had the “explosion” for the purple room here. Possibly also the room where JK is suspended. I love that. It’s just a visually gorgeous MV where every element fits the song perfectly.
I'm 99% sure, too! Plus I'm pretty sure that the "museum" is the same warehouse-like space that's used in Fake Love, DNA, and Idol. I would love a book or website that tracked specific set spaces that were used in multiple MVs -- the way set dressing, lighting, and camera work transform a set is such a cool bit of "movie magic"!
@@sarahy1680 ooooh yes, that would be cool. It’s possible they also used the two level set on both Fake Love and Blood Sweat & Tears. If I remember a behind the scenes correctly, at least one of those was practical and not editing between two separate shots. And I remember because I said wtf? Seriously? Lol I think that is/was probably their go to warehouse space that they build out as needed (or repurpose existing sets). Also, I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed and got excited about this stuff!
@@suebee0619 Yep! It's BTS's bts of BST 😄 (no wonder they call them 'shooting sketches' instead!) ruclips.net/video/z4keadU6Qyw/видео.html -- lots of shots showing both levels at the same time.
There are explanation videos for Idol, Fake Love, Blood Sweat and Tears, Black Swan, Spring Day, etc. Also how they made this videos. Those videos are most profound that what you are understanding. More than the colours
Hi dear. 68yo Army here. As you dive further into their videos you'll find that BTS have a distinct color pallette that they use again and again in their videos. It's very prominent in Suga's video "Daechwita".
I’m a professional studio photographer and i just love their music videos, the visuals are absolutely beautiful. For me that opening shot of them on the couch is really outstanding, the subtlety of the lighting coming from different sources with different colour temps, light streaming in through the window but also the guys themselves being lit by like… almost like Christmas lights lol. Phew. Very very atmospheric. One of their other music videos that i really love is Run from 2015. It has a very cinematic, melancholy, heavy on the nostalgia vibe and the storytelling is spectacular. Black Swan is also gorgeous, very dramatic setting and lighting. There’s also a Black Swan art film that is also very beautiful.
this is easily my favorite ot7 video. its unmatched in the rest of their videography imo and the storyline they create with the visuals is just beautiful. i love the intro shot where they're on the couch. the colors and set are just 😲 you should do black swan next! there's a trilogy for august d (gotta do em in order!) and they're like a feast for the eyes. the first words out of reactor's mouths is "this is like a movie". but i'm suga bias lol. there are SO many you can do.
Loved your reaction yet again. Cant wait til you react to Black swan. Also i believe you will like their MV "ON" . Thank you for your reactions to BTS.
You may want to consider reacting to the meaning behind the MV’s this one especially is loaded w symbolism from the dark and light, the art, the feathers, the fallen angel. Based on the book Demian by Hermann Hesse - you will surely appreciate how they brought Blood Sweat & Tears to life in the MV, which famously became the turning point for BTS, launching them in to global super stardom 💜
The painting is the fall of Luificer being cast out of heaven there's a lot of reference's good verse evil, temptation, loss of innocence, growing up, it's based on the Famous book by the German Thinker Hermann Hesse entitled Demian about a young boy and his mentor as he grew's up faces temptation, loss of innoence. RM quote's from the book but in the English translation not the original German. There's the painting of Icrus the swing with the white feather fallen down are showing Icrus who was tempted by pride to fly to close to the sun after his father told him not to. The Sun melted the wax that held his handmade wings together causing the wings to fail and he crashed back to earth dying according to Greek Mythology.
Man, if only you knew just HOW deep this goes. Nothing in this video is coincidental - everything is carefully selected (colours, clothing, statues, painting, camera angles, fog, uses of effects, direction ... you name it, it ALL has a purpose). I LOOOOOOOOOVE THIS SO MUCH! It's part of the BU, and it is so masterfully done, so complex and so difficult to understand, but once you do. WOAH!
PS. this song has a Japanese version with another AMAZING video which is also part of the BU. The Japanese ones might be slightly more difficult to release though.
This is absolutely one of the most beautiful mvs of all time, regardless of what country or music. Btw, you REALLY need to check out the Japanese mv for Blood, Sweat and Tears - it's very different (same song) and kind of a trip.
We never mind you pausing because you have intelligent and insightful observations. Thank you - your passion for your craft is quite obvious. Blood, Sweat and Tears is a feast for the eyes. The song and video are basically about temptation, and giving in to it.
3 Rappers RM fluent in English who's the Leader, Rapper and Main Song Writer along with Suga (aka Agust D) Rapper, award winning Producer who was siting on the chair with the green mist. These 2 were both Rappers in the South Korean underground Hip Hop Scene before they were BTS. Also J Hope Rapper was originally a part of the underground Hip Hop scene as a dancer. All 3 are Song writers, Composer's and Producers. They the 4 vocalist are also Song Writer's, Composer's and Producer but no were are prolificit as the 3 Rappers.
Mr. Swag is Suga (real name Min Yoongi) who records as a solo artist as Agust D and I think you might really like his masterpiece video for his masterpiece song 'Daechwita'
22:25 you are correct. Suga’s swag is unmatched. When the day comes for you to react to Daechwita, your videographer mind will be 🤯 love your reactions!
Watching videographers go through this video is always such a pleasure. All their videos are really good, but often very different. This one is full of layers of symbolism but it's also just gorgeous. So many moments when you could freeze it and hang the still in your wall. And that's without getting into the layers of symbolism and meaning - it's about temptation and the set is *crowded* with symbolic references to good and evil. Next... For just a gorgeous video with all 7, Black Swan. It's stunning, and a great song too. They have some interesting uses of light and shadow. I actually think, since you're not able to focus on the meaning of the song while watching, you might want to read a little about them going in - it'll enhance what you notice. Black Swan is about the artist's fear of losing their passion for art. ARMY won't mind you doing a little homework - we don't care about completely blind reactions, especially from someone bringing in their own expertise. And pause every frame if you want. 🤣🤣🤣 For solo work with videos I think are really interesting, here are my picks: RM: Wildflower Jin: Astronaut Suga/Agust D: Amygdala (although it's the last of a trilogy, and the first two are basically movies, so you could really go all in and do Daechwita/Haegeum/Amygdala) J-Hope: Arson Jimin: Set Me Free pt 2 V: Rainy Days And you already did one from Jungkook, but if you want to do another, Seven is very fun 😂 There are more options for most of them that are really good, these are just the ones I like that I'd like to hear your perspective on. In Wildflower they're using traditional Korean fireworks, for example, and there's a great behind the scenes for it. Amygdala is painful and beautiful, very much a work of art, and Set Me Free pt 2 is not like any other music video you've ever seen 😁😁😁 If you jump fully into Agust D, Daechwita and Haegeum are genuinely cinematic, and it's really fun to watch videographers watch them 😁😁😁
Black Swan next, and then maybe for a different style Save Me, Spring Day, and Dope (older ones). There are some awesome solo mv's too (especially the Agust D) trilogy; but maybe it's less confusing to stick with the BTS classics at this stage. And yeah, you'll like the Behind the Scenes too!
Black Swan, for sure, is next. Thanks for this reaction. I had, also, requested this video. Knew you’d love it. And if you do Black Swan-you stage do official video AND major event LIVE-2020 MAMA performance. That set was beautiful and so was performance.
This video has so much art, symbolism and references to classical concepts that it's actually made it onto the curriculum of several art history classes. :D I love JK suspended in slow-mo, and I love V (Taehyung) with the wing scars on his back, turning around and giving that Devil's smirk.
Above the mirror is a quote by the German Philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche who was a friend of Hermann Hesse. reference my previous post. Jin vocalist who kisses the statue represents the boy in from the book Demian. Oh the vocalist on the swing was Jungkook and he said he thought his hips were going to break from hanging on it that.
“I say unto you: *one must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star* . I say unto you: you still have chaos in yourselves. *** Where is the lightning to lick you with its tongue. Where is the frenzy with which you should be inoculated. Behold. I give you the Ubermensch. He is this lightning. He is this frenzy.” ― Friedrich Nietzsche, Thus Spoke Zarathustra English translation with the highlighted section being the quote over the mirror with full context from the original. Another relevant quote from the same work: "You must be ready to burn yourself in your own flame; how could you rise anew if you have not first become ashes?"
Black swan next would be good. Not today ON (official Mv) there's two there's the kinetic manifesto which mostly hard choreography and the official MV with gorgeous cinematography.
This music video is related to the novel by Herman Hesse called Demian. The book talks about the good and bad world. When Jin comes up to kiss the statue, it is a reference to the kiss between Emil and Demian (both characters in the book). In this case Jin kisses the statue that represents V, you can tell by the black wings and that in the next scene V has his wings cut off. By kissing the statue, Jin accepts his bad side. Leaving his innocence aside. The different works of art allude to something in particular that would be very long to tell like the myth of Icarus, the scene of the 12 apostles, J-hope has Mary behind him holding Jesus, it would really be long. Their mvs are visually beautiful but this one in particular is very deep in the story they want to tell you.
What's truly amazing is that no matter where your passion in life lies, BTS meets you there - invigorating and inspiring you... That's freaking beautiful. 💜
An older one that is cinematic and awesome is Not Today. Some of the videos have a running fictional storyline like I Need You and Run so those have really interesting scenes for a videographer. Also Spring Day. For that one there is an explanation video which makes it next level. There are references to books, movies, and tragic history. I get that you don’t want to turn in to a Bts channel, but people who watch you must know video is your thing, and Koreans have their thumb on the pulse, especially Hybe and Bighit/ BTS. It reminds me of way back when MTV first started and every video was epic for the time. We were mesmerized but it kind of fell off over time. I’m glad music is becoming visual again, with choreo and drama and that is the essence of Kpop when it’s good.
This mv is crazy laced with meaning and biblical references. It is based on the book Daemian by Hermann Hesse. It's about the journey into adulthood and the temptations you face. The painting in the beginning is the Fall of the Rebel Angels by Pieter Breugel the Elder. The statue that Jin kisses is a representation of Abraxas(evil). The 2 doorways, one black and one white. So many biblical stories. The image that you love on the swing, Jungkook by the way, is about Icarus who flew too close to the sun. And if you look at the painting behind him, it's an image of Icarus. The attention to detail is mind blowing. And on top of all that they built the rooms. The one with the blindfold (green room) was insane. Wonderful behind the scenes video for this one. You can see all the sets. So glad you are enjoying the boys. I think it would be interesting for you to see Daechwita by Sgust D aka Suga the one you said had so much swag. Mini movie. 😘💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🫶🏻🫰🏻
Technically, Abraxas is the source of the knowledge of good and evil Early Christian theology warped that to evil only, since they insist that only God/Jesus can be source of good. Once you know both good and evil, and have faced and accepted your own shadow, you break the shell holding you from maturing and emerge as your new mature self. Or as the Nietzsche quote on the wall says; "One must have chaos in oneself to give birth to a dancing star". (Hmm, so is this how Jin learned to dance so well?) All this being the lead-up to the Map of the Soul series, which is where BTS really leaned in on the Carl Jung theories just introduced here. (Jung was either Hesse's therapist, or mentor to his therapist, I forget which).
Well….."rapper dude" is RM (BTS’s leader, the one that comes out rapping out of the ambulance in Mic Drop ), "Swag" is Suga (aka Agust D when doing solo projects). Check out his Daechwita video( it’s a trilogy so follow it with Haegeum, and the last one is Amygdala). It’s worth the watch. So, if you like special videos with choreo, I recommend "ON Kinetic Manifesto Film" (camera angles are nuts !), then I highly recommend you follow up with the same song"ON" but this time it’s the official mv. I say start with the choreo one first, so you can appreciate the 2nd video (the official mv) more. They are great! Another good one is"Not Today".
This is one of the best mvs! They all have solo work, if you want to get to know them, there is a great documentary by Taylor M. that shows where they came from and introduces all the boys. I see someone suggested the Agust D trilogy - so good!! DNA, Fire, War of Hormones all great!
Thats why I like the explaination videos by people like DKDKTV. As an artist I just want to sit back and take the music and videos in. Listening to a korean explain the non pg versions of lyrics, slang, cultural references. Its how I came to appreciate BTS more fully .... there is always more than a non korean would ever get. The theme is temptations.
I’m enjoying your channel! I’m really glad Anthony told you about BTS. The guys started as a Hard rap group. BTS got a lot of flack when they changed their style of music. The rap line Kim Namjoon (RM, )Hung Hoseok (“J hope, )Min Yoongi( Suga) Suga is the king of swag . I think they can rap or rap sing. Jimin is known to dance Blind Folded. That’s Namjoon speaking. ❤
I love that this group does multiple genres. Artistic - Black Swan, BS & Tears. Dance - Fire, Not Today, and Dope. Pop - Dynamite, Butter, and Permission to Dance. I also love their live covers like Fix You from Coldplay. They also have some serious movie like music videos - I love the On A Kinetic Manifesto film version the best. Suga has some amazing music videos in his recent solos.
The rapline is RM, Suga and J-hope the rest make up the vocal line.. Jimin, Jin, V, and JK.. for the rap line focus check out Ugh or Cypher 4 and for the vocal line check out Dimple or 00:00
You definitely need to watch Black Swan, DNA, probably Dope, and listen to Ugh and Ddaeng. Swag man is Suga aka August D, Chocolate wings is RM(leader), bow and arrow is J-Hope, suspended is Jungkook, Cut off wings is V, kisses statue is Jin, and blindfolded is Jimin. Another great video is Stay Gold.
Yes, he should react to Black Swan
Let him finish the group mvs first then he can do solos💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I was just coming here to say Black Swan.
Yesssss!!!
Did he not say in the introduction that he has already reacted to Black Swan ?
Am I tripping ? 😅

Seriously? Lol
I think that is/was probably their go to warehouse space that they build out as needed (or repurpose existing sets).
14:45 - The painting behind the guy "flying too high?" The Lament For Icarus... with feathers in the air around him. Yeah. Yeah.
You need to watch Black Swan MV, FIRE MV, and ON Kinetic Manifesto MV. You will go bonkers
this is easily my favorite ot7 video. its unmatched in the rest of their videography imo and the storyline they create with the visuals is just beautiful. i love the intro shot where they're on the couch. the colors and set are just 😲 you should do black swan next! there's a trilogy for august d (gotta do em in order!) and they're like a feast for the eyes. the first words out of reactor's mouths is "this is like a movie". but i'm suga bias lol. there are SO many you can do.
I liked the touch that they kept Nietzsche's quote above the mirror in the original German.
He: I"m so ready
I: No, you are not 😂💜
Right? Absolutely no one is ever ready for this video.
Thank you Sir Park JIMIN For writing the Melody of BST , and getting the title Master of Opening DANCE MASTER VERSATILE ARTIST ❤
Blood Sweat and Tears Japanese version is AMAZING!
BTS on Acid vibes.
U gonna love it.
I hate to say I told you so…..but I told you so. Fire!!!! Now you need Black Swan😊
Dont worry, you are not the only one. We all did 😂
Agreed. Next HAS to be Black Swan.
J-hope Arson or More MV are beautiful too 👌🏽my fav is Arson it’s done so well and the lyrics are 🔥🔥🔥
Man, if only you knew just HOW deep this goes.
I really need to watch the BU catchup video, I was struck by the art and the obvious Demian, Jungian, Biblical, and Classical references.
This is absolutely one of the most beautiful mvs of all time, regardless of what country or music. Btw, you REALLY need to check out the Japanese mv for Blood, Sweat and Tears - it's very different (same song) and kind of a trip.
This is the video and song that made me fall down the Bangtan rabbit hole in 2016
@@tannie618tran7 Right on. I'm a very new ARMY, fell when Tim Henson and Luke Holland covered Butter and I was like, "huh... that's catchy..."
BTS is a savory dish
Multi layered emotional trip
We never mind you pausing because you have intelligent and insightful observations. Thank you - your passion for your craft is quite obvious. Blood, Sweat and Tears is a feast for the eyes. The song and video are basically about temptation, and giving in to it.
I agree black Swan music video should be next😂❤
Purple has a very special meaning for our boys and Army. I purple you!
You would definitely enjoy the Making Of video for this. We would enjoy watching you enjoy it as well.😁💜
20:30 - The kiss to Abraxas and V being revealed as The Tempter while Suga is The Mentor.
The white statue,
in the archery frame with J-Hope, is
" La Pieta " , by the Italian Renaissance artist & sculptor, Michaelangelo.
22:25 you are correct. Suga’s swag is unmatched. When the day comes for you to react to Daechwita, your videographer mind will be 🤯 love your reactions!
My favorite Music Videos from BTS are "RUN" and "I NEED YOU"
Watching videographers go through this video is always such a pleasure.
For solo work with videos I think are really interesting, here are my picks:
RM: Wildflower
Jin: Astronaut
Suga/Agust D: Amygdala (although it's the last of a trilogy, and the first two are basically movies, so you could really go all in and do Daechwita/Haegeum/Amygdala)
J-Hope: Arson
Jimin: Set Me Free pt 2
V: Rainy Days
And you already did one from Jungkook, but if you want to do another, Seven is very fun 😂
There are more options for most of them that are really good, these are just the ones I like that I'd like to hear your perspective on. In Wildflower they're using traditional Korean fireworks, for example, and there's a great behind the scenes for it. Amygdala is painful and beautiful, very much a work of art, and Set Me Free pt 2 is not like any other music video you've ever seen 😁😁😁
If you jump fully into Agust D, Daechwita and Haegeum are genuinely cinematic, and it's really fun to watch videographers watch them 😁😁😁
Black Swan next, and then maybe for a different style Save Me, Spring Day, and Dope (older ones). There are some awesome solo mv's too (especially the Agust D) trilogy; but maybe it's less confusing to stick with the BTS classics at this stage. And yeah, you'll like the Behind the Scenes too!
SUGA's swag IS unmatched!
Black Swan, for sure, is next. Thanks for this reaction. I had, also, requested this video. Knew you’d love it. And if you do Black Swan-you stage do official video AND major event LIVE-2020 MAMA performance. That set was beautiful and so was performance.
Black swan for sure.
❤ for You! BTS Forever 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🤗
Lights and Spring Day Are amazing videos. Spring Day is my Ult favorite, for the meaning and symbolism as well.
Ohh from Jimin the SERENDIPITY MV AND LIVE TOO... Simple but Amazing
This video has so much art, symbolism and references to classical concepts that it's actually made it onto the curriculum of several art history classes. :D
I love JK suspended in slow-mo, and I love V (Taehyung) with the wing scars on his back, turning around and giving that Devil's smirk.
They are beautiful! I love the way you pause and break them down. Black swan for BTS.
My favorite scene is Suga playing the organ.
The dance practice video for this song is well worth watching, just for the choreography.
***
Where is the lightning to lick you with its tongue. Where is the frenzy with which you should be inoculated. Behold. I give you the Ubermensch. He is this lightning. He is this frenzy.”
― Friedrich Nietzsche, Thus Spoke Zarathustra
English translation with the highlighted section being the quote over the mirror with full context from the original.
Another relevant quote from the same work:
"You must be ready to burn yourself in your own flame; how could you rise anew if you have not first become ashes?"
Black swan next would be good.
Not today
ON (official Mv) there's two there's the kinetic manifesto which mostly hard choreography and the official MV with gorgeous cinematography.
This is one of the most captivating beautiful music videos I've ever seen tbh
I vote for an oldie but a goodie, Not Today, for next reaction. It's kind of nice to see older to newer and watch their evolution.
Three rappers and vocal line.
It’s several. The fallen angel reveal, the JK hanging, and the opening scene.
20:55 - I'm here for your eye, bro. You catch things other reactors miss and I love your pausing.
BTS Black Swan 💜
Loved your reaction to Fake Love. Blood sweat & tears will also blow your mind!! Welcome to the fandom 💜💜
(Hmm, so is this how Jin learned to dance so well?)
All this being the lead-up to the Map of the Soul series, which is where BTS really leaned in on the Carl Jung theories just introduced here. (Jung was either Hesse's therapist, or mentor to his therapist, I forget which).
ARMY appreciates pausing to comment instead of talking over it💜💜Anyone who doesn't like it can just move on
Ameiii seu react... nós army ficamos muito felizes quando novos amigos conhecem os meninos . Obrigada 💜💜💜 #armybrasil
You might like the camera shots done on BTS “On Kinetic Manifesto”
If you decide to geek on this song, watch the dance practice version carefully. Many of the choreo moves actually tell the story.
meaning this song is sooo deeply 🍃🍃✊
Knew you would love this one. It is so visually stunning
They are all almost short movies. Love it.
Also check out Jessi Who Dat Be .Also arrived and of course Coldblooded.
This is one of the best mvs! They all have solo work, if you want to get to know them, there is a great documentary by Taylor M. that shows where they came from and introduces all the boys. I see someone suggested the Agust D trilogy - so good!! DNA, Fire, War of Hormones all great!
My best scene is all and beyond the scenes
20:53 the kick move is what I noticed today
They are phenomenal, aren’t they? Love your reactions!
Great reaction as always. I think you would enjoy Not Today. Thank you. 💜
That is Suga (aka Agust D) the( swag ) Rapper playing the Church Organ and he's representing Diamen's mentor the old church organist from the book.
Next should be On MV and after that On Kinetic Manifesto film: Come Frima or if you can do both it would be awesome!!!
thank you reaction~~~~~🙏🙏🙏
Pause as much as you want 💜
Estava esperando essa reação... 🇧🇷💜
The rapline is RM, Suga and J-hope the rest make up the vocal line.. Jimin, Jin, V, and JK.. for the rap line focus check out Ugh or Cypher 4 and for the vocal line check out Dimple or 00:00
NOT TODAY next pleaaassee
You definitely need to watch Black Swan, DNA, probably Dope, and listen to Ugh and Ddaeng. Swag man is Suga aka August D, Chocolate wings is RM(leader), bow and arrow is J-Hope, suspended is Jungkook, Cut off wings is V, kisses statue is Jin, and blindfolded is Jimin. Another great video is Stay Gold.
There's a lot of history and information in this video, so I would recommend to watch the explication for this video.💜
AYYY! I have been obsessed with this track since I heard it the first time a couple of days ago.
Three of them currently rap but one of the singers rapped in the beginning
Told ya! Black Swan next. The lighting!
