this song is kinda about how its a love triangle where both boys are aware of each other’s feelings for the girl but they dont really wanna ruin the friendship between the three. so its kinda like the bittersweet feeling of seeing the one you love falling for someone else. i think there was a theory somewhere about how wonwoo ended up w the girl as shown by when he had her hat in the hallway so mingyu recognized this and chose to step back and let them love each other.

I loved the message of the song because people make it seem like romantic love and platonic love feel different, but they really don't. Love is love, and all types of love just feels nice. Platonic love can be just as passionate and fulfilling as romantic love. It's the one kind of love everyone can receive and give, which makes it that much more meaningful. In the music video, Wonwoo gave up on the girl because it was clear that he and Mingyu were hurting over the girl. The bittersweet part was from Wonwoo picking his best friend that he's been friends for years or this blossoming love with a girl he's interested in. In the end he gives up the girl because his friendship that he has had for years is more important than some girl. (this was actually confirmed in an interview and this can be found on weverse) And in my personal headcanon, Mingyu liked both the girl and Wonwoo, but he ended up just liking Wonwoo and backed off from the girl and distanced himself from WOnwoo. And Wonwoo saw he was losing his friendship with Mingyu, so he gave up on this girl since that young love wasn't worth losing his friend over. So he just sticks by Mingyu and they go on with life. I know this is all about friendship and I love that message so much, but it would be funny and cute if they were gay in the end lmfaooo

Someone told me that if you have a hetero-perspective from the beginning, you will see two male friends falling in love with the same girl, who chooses Wonwoo over Mingyu, and Mingyu is sad but let it go to protect his friendship with Wonwoo. I agree that this sounds so seamless. I absolutely love Wonwoo and Mingyu's voices. Also, Lee Hi's beautiful voice really adds flavour to the song.
The MV is quite vague. Someone told me that if you have a hetero-perspective from the beginning, you will see two male friends falling in love with the same girl, who chooses Wonwoo over Mingyu, and Mingyu is sad but let it go to protect his friendship with Wonwoo. If you have a queer perspective, you may see Mingyu falls in love with Wonwoo since he keeps looking at Wonwoo in the MV, but Wonwoo is in love with the girl. It is interesting.
