There’s been so much technology in the last five years, that I found it extremely difficult to comprehend. You made it very simple! One thing I wanted to mention and hopefully no one else has this problem, after my second week of my Honda purchase, I took my car in for car wash. At the end of the wash, I couldn’t get my car out of neutral and was holding up quite a line! I apologize to everyone behind me and told him I just got a new car and couldn’t figure out what to do. It took 4 individual men to get it out of Neutral! I was surprised at the fact that no one in back of me was upset at all. And there was nothing wrong with the car, there was just something wrong with the driver who didn’t know how simple it was to get it out of neutral.

Only the Touring trim had satellite navigation for 2022 CRVs, while lower trims have apple car play and android auto (excluding LX trim). The CRV (if I recall correctly between 2017 and 2018) used to have an EX-L Navi trim.
I just got a Honda CRV EXL 2022. I can’t find out what to levers on the steering wheel mean/do…one has a + the other a - Second question: I’m having the larger tire installed on the car. Will this affect the ride in any way? Right now it seems to me that it runs a little rough but I just have the original tires that came with the car. Thanks for the video. The main question I have is this. Is there ANY way to not have the engine running (burning gas) while going through the various menus? I have just recently bought a 2020 CRV and it seems like the engine has to be running to have access to these menus and other features. Thanks.
Yes, You can put the vehicle in accessory mode. You would push the start button without pressing on the brake pedal. Hitting start once gives you access to the radio. Hitting start a second time gives you move access to the fan and touchscreen. A third time just turns off the vehicle again.
Great tutorial, I have a 2020 crv touring, I learned a lot, Could you do the same detailed tutorial for the Garmin Navigation, maybe go thru all the setting would be a great help, I checked RUclips and no one has done one.
My wife has a CRV 2020 and she uses remote #2 and she gave me the other remote. I set remote #1 to lock when I walk away but I can't get her remote (#2) to set to walk away lock. the screen shows what remote I'm using so I think I'm doing it right if I can set remote #1. I have a 2020 Honda Civic ES. When I get the oil changed, the dashboard, I believe called the driver display, is changed to an oil can. If I forget to ask someone to put it back to the right display I am stuck with an oil can and a drive back to the dealer for a 5 second fix. I believe that the sport trim CRV in 2020 was available in Canada, not USA. But I do know that the Front and rear parking sensors were standard on the 2020 Honda CRV Touring Hybrid (top trim CRV hybrid)

Hi Chris, I'm doing everything like turning the ignition power ON but the settings remain grayed out. When I press a selection, I get a message saying that "all features will be available when the vehicle is stopped" I'm not moving - I'm parked in my garage with gearshift in PARK. @@CrazyHondaChris-H18 thanks for asking. Yes, it was simply a matter of resetting the audio system. Kept pushing the radio knob until I got a reset message. I think it's weird that customizing the settings for the vehicle are done through the radio. I'm very happy with our 2021 Honda CRV Ex. Great car except it's hard to actually turn around and see out the rear and tiny side windows with the passenger seat headrests getting in the way. I don't totally trust the rear camera when backing up.
I have a driver 1 key and a driver 2 key. I was told depending on which key is used to drive it would save the position of my side and rear view mirrors but I always have to manually adjust them…
The Honda CR-V doesn't have this feature saving the side mirrors position within the two-seat memory. That's on selected trims and models (pilots, odyssey, ridgeline, and accord) Usually in higher trim levels. The rear view mirror is always manually adjustable.

Didn't want to text you to bother you - but I just got a 2022 CRV EXL, and I cannot figure out how to have the overhead light stay on when the liftgate is open? The two side lights are not bright enough for me. Also, does my model include the foot under the back of the vehicle as a feature? I cannot find which models thave that. Congratulations on your new Honda T B! The EX-L trim does NOT have the hands-free powered tailgate (kick sensor) standard but can be added as an accessory. All the headrest should be adjustable and can be removed the same way. You change the setting for dome light/overhead light's timer as well.

Hi Chris. I just bought a Honda CRV LX. There is a button which I believe is air circulation It is in the shape of a car,with a C in it. I pressed it,and now,the only way to shut it off is to press I think the dial on the extreme left, drivers side temperature control,and that will close the button with the yellow light,but open another button which lights up green,I think 2 buttons to the right. So,I can not find a way to have the button that lights up yellow and the on that lights up green to close both,and have them both unlit. This may not be clear,I had a 2010 Subaru for 11 yrs and it was simple technology,so I am a bit in the dark,if you can help,thanks,or if not its ok.
That button 2 over to the right is defroster. I recommend that you keep the green lit up button on while having defroster on so you don’t have filtered air coming in the car at all times. You can have some fresh air
I was looking for the auto-dimming time setup for the info tainment system that makes the screen dim in th evening and brighten back up at dawn. I have to take my car to Best Buy every time I need to have it set. I don't see it on this video .
Thank you for your videos. In the settings, under "Resetting a trip meter", the 4th listed option is " Average Speed". In the side bar it says, "You can change when to reset the average speed." Can you tell me how to do this?
You're looking under vehicle setting -> Meter setup -> Trip B or A reset timing..? This is a select if or when you like the vehicle to auto reset. I haven't seen the Honda CRVs in the American Market displaying average speed.

How does the rearview mirror work. There are 2 holes below the mirror that sense the light from the other vehicle's high beams, and I don't see any thing happening when a vehicle with their high beams on is behind me.

Apple car play is an awesome feature that allows you to use navigation without going to the touring trim to save your hard earned cash. But only you can ask the question if these additional gained features from the exl to touring are going to have a huge enough impact on your daily experience for X more? Had a puncture in tyre today and guy in garage reset the touchscreen to delete the warning sign. But, after he did this I can no longer see how many miles to the gallon indicator slide that was there before. I don’t mean I want to set the trip indicator. I want to see how many miles to the gallon my cr-v is doing while I’m driving it. The screen used to indicate this while I was driving with a bar visible underneath this too but it’s now disappeared after the guy altered the warning light. I’ve looked all through the manual, played with the screen and I can’t find it anywhere. It was really useful too. Can you please help. I find your videos really informative but unfortunately this information hasn’t appeared in the ones I’ve seen. HELP!

I believe a software update fix or changed that option. Now you can only save the driver seat position, sorry 😞

That would be parking sensors that would alert you which doesn't come standard on the CRV but can be added as an accessory. Thank you for watching

Sounds like you are asking about parking sensors, which is not standard on the 2017 to 2022 Honda CRVs

@@CrazyHondaChris-H18 thanks for asking. Yes, it was simply a matter of resetting the audio system. Kept pushing the radio knob until I got a reset message. I think it's weird that customizing the settings for the vehicle are done through the radio. I'm very happy with our 2021 Honda CRV Ex. Great car except it's hard to actually turn around and see out the rear and tiny side windows with the passenger seat headrests getting in the way. I don't totally trust the rear camera when backing up.
I have a driver 1 key and a driver 2 key. I was told depending on which key is used to drive it would save the position of my side and rear view mirrors but I always have to manually adjust them…
The Honda CR-V doesn't have this feature saving the side mirrors position within the two-seat memory. That's on selected trims and models (pilots, odyssey, ridgeline, and accord) Usually in higher trim levels. The rear view mirror is always manually adjustable.

Chris, I find your videos by the far the best. Didn't want to text you to bother you - but I just got a 2022 CRV EXL, and I cannot figure out how to have the overhead light stay on when the liftgate is open? The two side lights are not bright enough for me.
Also, does my model include the foot under the back of the vehicle as a feature? I cannot find which models thave that.
One last thing - I would like to remove the center headrest - do you have instructions on how to get that (or any of them) out?

Congratulations on your new Honda T B! The EX-L trim does NOT have the hands-free powered tailgate (kick sensor) standard but can be added as an accessory. All the headrest should be adjustable and can be removed the same way. You change the setting for dome light/overhead light's timer as well.

Hi Chris. I just bought a Honda CRV LX. There is a button which I believe is air circulation It is in the shape of a car,with a C in it. I pressed it,and now,the only way to shut it off is to press I think the dial on the extreme left, drivers side temperature control,and that will close the button with the yellow light,but open another button which lights up green,I think 2 buttons to the right. So,I can not find a way to have the button that lights up yellow and the on that lights up green to close both,and have them both unlit. This may not be clear,I had a 2010 Subaru for 11 yrs and it was simple technology,so I am a bit in the dark,if you can help,thanks,or if not its ok.
That button 2 over to the right is defroster. I recommend that you keep the green lit up button on while having defroster on so you don’t have filtered air coming in the car at all times. You can have some fresh air

There's not a setting that adjusts the light sensitivity by time.
Thank you for your videos. In the settings, under "Resetting a trip meter", the 4th listed option is " Average Speed". In the side bar it says, "You can change when to reset the average speed." Can you tell me how to do this?
You're looking under vehicle setting -> Meter setup -> Trip B or A reset timing..? This is a select if or when you like the vehicle to auto reset. I haven't seen the Honda CRVs in the American Market displaying average speed.

How does the rearview mirror work. There are 2 holes below the mirror that sense the light from the other vehicle's high beams, and I don't see any thing happening when a vehicle with their high beams on is behind me.

Apple car play is an awesome feature that allows you to use navigation without going to the touring trim to save your hard earned cash. But only you can ask the question if these additional gained features from the exl to touring are going to have a huge enough impact on your daily experience for X more? Had a puncture in tyre today and guy in garage reset the touchscreen to delete the warning sign. But, after he did this I can no longer see how many miles to the gallon indicator slide that was there before. I don’t mean I want to set the trip indicator. I want to see how many miles to the gallon my cr-v is doing while I’m driving it. The screen used to indicate this while I was driving with a bar visible underneath this too but it’s now disappeared after the guy altered the warning light. I’ve looked all through the manual, played with the screen and I can’t find it anywhere. It was really useful too. Can you please help. I find your videos really informative but unfortunately this information hasn’t appeared in the ones I’ve seen. HELP!
