  • Join me for an in-depth review of the Verbatim 14 inch Touchscreen Portable Monitor which I recently got from Amazon: amzn.to/3FIDXs7
    I show you how it works with my MacBook Air, detailing everything that comes with it including chargers, cables, and a handy neoprene sleeve for traveling.
    The monitor comes with a kickstand, USB-A, USB-C ports and an HDMI and headphone port. We'll look at how it works right out of the box with a crisp 1080p resolution, perfect for gaming, watching RUclips or multitasking with multiple windows. The best part? It can be used with an iPad and can plug into a smartphone, Xbox, PS4, and PS5. Note, it supports up to 1080p resolution and won't give 4K or QHD.
    Thinking of buying one? Already own one? Leave your questions and experiences in the comments...
    Talk soon,
    Reuben

    How do you know it’s fully charged? At the moment it’s plugged in the the light is red. Will it turn green when full?

      It doesn’t charge, there isn’t a battery. It is powered by your computer

    it use the macbook battery, right? is it power hungry?

    • @reubenrock
      @reubenrock  10 месяцев назад +1

      Yep, it uses the macbook battery via USB-C. I haven't tested it extensively, so not sure how long the battery on my 15" MBA will last while connected to this display. I'd expect a significant decrease in battery life though.

    It seems like a real mirror. Is that bothering enen you use it?

      It’s a lot more noticeable in the video vs during use. A matte finish would be better though

    Does the touch function work with your MacBook??

    • @reubenrock
      @reubenrock  2 месяца назад

      Yes, but not the way you might expect. When the cursor is on the portable monitor, touchscreen operates like normal. When cursor is on the MacBook display, the portable monitor’s touchscreen acts as a track pad for the cursor. Which is weird. But not a problem if you’re not really using the touchscreen all the time (I’m not)

    Does it work with a samsung galaxy phone? Does it have palm rejection? What pens are compatible with the screen?

    • @reubenrock

      I'm sure it works with galaxy phones, but I don't have a galaxy to test it. I don't think it has palm rejection. On the pens... I would think a basic stylus would work, but not sure about any other kind of pen. Sorry I'm not much help!

      I've seen this monitor only in the store, but I think if you are really looking for something like a wacom tablet, this will not be it. It's just a monitor that is portable and you can navigate with touch. It's not designed for digital drawing/painting. Not that you can't do it, but it'll lack the precision.
