I had to wipe the drool off my face when I saw that AAR !!! That car is so cool! I love all Chryslers products & that barn had quite a few. A guy in my hometown of Hancock Michigan had a inviolet AAR. I had a dodge demon 340 that was loads of fun to drive. Great video!
Man.. back in my high school days I had a 70' barracuda.. lots of memories seeing your e- body of running around Stockton streets lol. It was that green too..
Man that 1972 B5 blue Road Runner is a sweet car I had one it was plumb crazy with a 440 and my friend had a B5 car just like that 72 in the garage there I wish I still owned that car but I was young at the time and needed the money that was when those cars were going for 10 grand in mint shape now they have over doubled the value since then and that was back in the 1990's
Don't get me wrong, the white interior with the green would have looked really cool back in the day, and I do like that color combo, it's just that I use my cars so much and I'm always dirty working on them, I would ruin that white interior in no time. The whole car is going to get put back with black interior.
Your car, your rules man. You are definitely a man that is enamored with his purchase. I understand your excitement and share it. To some, looking at this car they see a piece of junk. They are a labor of love. You don't put yourself through.all.of that work because you are sane. You just love them and you do the work, planning, scheming the entire time you work on them. You got a new sub and I will be happy to watch her transform into a bad @$$ Challenger.
Well, thanks so much, man. I really appreciate that! Also, you're excited right, it's a labor of love fixing these cars. Is it a lot of work? Sure, is it going to cost me a lot?Absolutely. Would most people have just walked away from something this bad? Probably, but there are only so many of these cars left, and since the car is fixable, I can't just let it rot into the ground. I appreciate the support, man. Thank you 🙌🏻
Yup! I did know that. They also used the 70 Coronet hoods for the Super Birds. They just cut that front part of the hood off so they could mount the nose cone.
Congrats on your 71 buy. I truly think the 1971 Challenger is one of the most beautiful cars made. I could be bias, since I am an owner of one. Enjoy it and love it!
Thanks man I appreciate it! I originally wanted a 70 challenger, just because the grill and tail lights were my favorite but since having this 71 and doing all the research on them, it is becoming my favorite Challenger!
440 six pack slap stick, f6 green, black interior (white is a pain to keep up with) you got a mountain of pain in the ass work but the upside is all the content potential and if it gets to be too much you can just go for a ride in the coronet.
That car is perfect to make into 1 of 71 Hemi challenger RT’s. Hopefully you have the budget to buy a 426 Hemi crate motor that looks like an authentic Hemi, a 727 torqueflite and a 3.55:1 Dana 60. Also you can put in a shaker hood and it’s scoop. If you can’t afford the Hemi crate engine, you can make this car into a 440 6 pack with a torqueflite. Definitely keep the original green and the original white interior color. The idea is to make this car look as authentic as possible. It’ll look even cooler with a white vinyl top to match the interior. I highly recommend you do this to this car because it’s perfect for it and the real thing is so rare
Well, I certainly agree with you on that but I'm not going to put the vinyl top back on and I'm going to put the interior in black. Other than that the car will most likely get a 440 of some variation or a Gen 3 Hemi. Imnalso going to repaint the car its original FJ6 Green Go color 👍🏻
So normally, I'd agree with you on that one, but the frame of the car is actually pretty solid. The thin sheet metal floors, roof skin, and a few other places are easily replaceable. Visually, it looks bad for sure, but structurally, it's in good shape.
@@BryceCold I’ll be watching for progress, there’s pics on my Instagram of the 71 Challenger we built with my buddy, it turned out great with a 400 motor and trick flow top end kit
Congratulations on the new project... bummer about the original hood being lost. Hopefully they gave you a discount for that happening. But it's going to be a long process anyways
Yeah definitely a bummer about the hood, but it was in pretty bad shape to begin with and it was just a flat hood and luckily not something rare. But yes it'll be a longer process but I'm ready 💪🏻
I was going to say at the start needs a new black rt bonnet. Lol killa car patina with black bonnet new black or white stripe on the truck will look wild . What engine are Yu thinking? Congratulations 🎉 Bryce
Did the windshield make it home, and if so ,where did you stash it? Last time I saw it , it went into the back seat area with you when you guys picked up the car from the buyer ? Sorry about the hood. Looking forward to more videos. Great project for you. It will be awesome some day.
So I actually decided to leave it at Troy's shop in Dallas because we didn't think it would survive the trip home without breaking. Troy said when the time comes, I can get a back glass from him at one of his California locations.
Truely enjoyed the video and I would love to know how much you paid for this Challenger? Just want to know what ones like this are going for. something I would love to get into someday.
I paid $5K for the car, and if it wasn't a 71 Challenger I don't know that I would have bought it. The car is pretty rough but since it's a 71 with the rare fj6 paint code, it's worth saving. So 5K was worth it.
Back in the early nineties I called a guy who advertised in Hemings a 70 FC7 hemi Roadrunner . He was such a jerk, I couldn’t get any information. Such “needs restored “. What does that mean? Some details? It was pre internet so purchases involved a few phone calls and photos mailed. Wish I had been able to get it .
Haha I know, it definitely looks bad and it is, but it's all fixable. If the structural frame underneath the sheet metal skins were bad like the skins are, then I probably wouldn't touch the car but the structural stuff is still in really good shape
Hit me up if you need help finding parts I'm in Southern Oregon nice grab on the challenger. I just came across your channel I like your style and figured I'd offer some help.
Well thanks man I really appreciate that! Yeah when the time comes for me to start putting this car back together after all the metal work is done, I will send you a message!
I can't remember what he did for a living but I know he owned his own company, and his wife was in Pharmaceuticals for almost 30 years, they make pretty good money.
Or were you talking about my buddy Troy and his Shop full of mopars? If so he owns his own insurance company and spends his time and money collecting and rescuing Mopars, him and his his crew are great people 👍🏻

I love Chrysler cars from the 60s and 70s 🤘
Same! Best era for cars IMO 🙌🏻
You have a TON of work ahead of you to fix that rust bucket. Good luck.
Yep 👍🏻

I gotta say the people that you got the challenger from are some of the coolest people I seen I tell ya car people are just different.
Oh man, they were such great people! True car enthusiasts 👍🏻
Congrats on your new car. Can't wait to see it finished.
Thanks man! I'm pretty stoked about it 👍🏻
Those challengers are def. cool looking muscle cars.
Absolutely 💯

It was an amazing car 🤌🏻
Wow! What a collection of Mopars! Sets my heart and mind racing!
Yeah it was crazy haha 😄
You probably have everything in life accomplished when it comes to cars ....awesomeness is the only word that come to mind....lol
Haha thanks man! I'm very blessed to be able to get cars like these 🙏🏻
For sure keep the interior white with that green go is awesome ! Great find can't wait to see it back on the road.
Don't get me wrong, the white interior with the green would have looked really cool back in the day, and I do like that color combo, it's just that I use my cars so much and I'm always dirty working on them, I would ruin that white interior in no time. Just found your channel, love the Classic Mopars! Currently restoring a 69 Dart!
Oh awesome, brother! So kool, thank you! I love Darts so much, my first car in high-school back in 2006 was a 70 Dart 🙌🏻
Looking forward to seeing more of this project
Thanks! Its going to be awesome 🤘🏻
Very cool! Congrats on your new ride. Seeing what you've done with your Coronet, I know it'll turn out awesome!
Thanks man I appreciate it! Yeah dude it'll be kool when it's done 🤘🏻
3:54 incase you don't know.... Those front fenders on the 70 Dodge Coronet/Super Bee, are also used on that 1970 Plymouth Superbird... a little trivia
Yup! I did know that. They also used the 70 Coronet hoods for the Super Birds. They just cut that front part of the hood off so they could mount the nose cone.

Can't wait to help make a few parts/get in on some of the welding. Let's Go! You are crushing it my man.
Thanks brother! Can't wait to have you help out on something!!!
Black interior patina slot mags slap stick and a 440 p.s classic industries make good mopar stuff
Oh absolutely man 💯👍🏻
Looking forward to the transformation!

Hahaha oh heck yeah man! Yeah I agree, white interior would be very difficult to keep clean.

So excited for you man!
Thank you!!!
good luck with your project! I was the same when I saw my 70 all rusty and rotten haha
Thanks! Yeah mine definitely needs alot of help but it'll be nice when it's done 👍🏻
Happy Thanksgiving 🎸🎸🎸
Happy Thanksgiving!
This is going to be great
Absolutely!
I don’t envy you the amount of work that car needs, good luck. I think I’d go tube chassis race car with that one
So normally, I'd agree with you on that one, but the frame of the car is actually pretty solid. The thin sheet metal floors, roof skin, and a few other places are easily replaceable. Visually, it looks bad for sure, but structurally, it's in good shape.

Looks like the car I bought, but mine is a 69 stang.
Nice man 👍🏻
440 stroked repaint same color Kermit deserves it
Oh absolutely! 👌🏻
Notifications clicked! This will be rad.
Thanks man, I appreciate that! This build is going to be badass 👌🏻
Green with white interior is a great color combo. Maybe throw in a 440 big block.
Yeah I'm definitely on the fence of doing a stroked 440 or a gen 3 hemi. I'm leaning more towards the 440 for this car. 👍🏻
@@BryceCold 440 is more from back in the day. But reliability rests with a modern Hemi. Either way you really can't go wrong.

I hear ya man, glad it's so much easier nowadays to get cars
Did they compensate you in anyway for the hood flying off?
No because it technically wasn't their fault. It was mine for not securing it properly
In hindsight you should have been saying " Hold my beer!" Instead of I'm ready for it. No one was ready for the dipping results😢
Haha I know, it definitely looks bad and it is, but it's all fixable. If the structural frame underneath the sheet metal skins were bad like the skins are, then I probably wouldn't touch the car but the structural stuff is still in really good shape
