I saw this too on a lawtube channel I believe. That the insurance company dropped them saying they couldn’t insure them when saying things that incite violence. The venues cannot allow them to play without insurance. Therefore they had to cancel. Not sure how true all that is but it makes complete sense.

If that bit truly wasn't scripted, it's possibly the most horrible thing Kyle could do. As a long-time friend, Jack Black trusted Kyle highly most likely, and then Kyle just takes all that responsibility and messes it up to the point of even killing Jack Black's reputation alongside his for political points.

Okay, this answer is biased because I am a super fan of Jack Black, having met him at least four times in my life. Granted, he could put on a mask, but he seems like a genuine guy. When I went to a meet and greet, I told him about my cancer battle, and we talked for a while. He didn't have to talk to me or engage-he could've just signed my stuff and told me to leave. I know he's known for dark jokes, but I really don't think he's in the wrong for actively trying to do damage control. I, too, have cut stupid friends out of my life.
Kyle Gass is much smaller than Jack and has had far fewer roles. He's not a celebrity by any standard, in my opinion. I don't blame Jack for what he's done, and I hope people understand you can't control what your friends do all the time. If this wasn't scripted, and I truly don't think it was, I feel so bad for Jack.
Also, there are countless videos online that show Jack interacting with the paparazzi-he's not mean, he runs from them, jokes, and plays around. Do your research. I don't think he would go out of his way to script one of the worst-timed jokes ever. I fully blame Kyle for this and hope Jack will be okay.
He seems to always try to have a good image and promote positivity from what I have seen.

Typically speaking, most people agree about censorship existing, they just disagree on "what" should be cancelled or censored.

Btw the reason why they stopped the tour now is not because of he suddenly felt a sense of remorse or something else. But the Insurance for those events skyrocketed which the venue would have to carry, so Venues dont want him anymore, any Venues whatsoever dont want him anymore.
Personally know somebody that used to work for the secret service and now he's moved to a different federal agent job and I was talking to him about this and basically he said it's probably because the secret service is roughly around half of the agents they actually want/need so that probably contributed to the shooter being able to do what he did. Also the secret service agent with the sniper could have just scanned that area and turned away to scan another area right as he came up on the roof not to mention the angle trajectory from the shooter to Trump and the shooter to the sniper was in fact potentially blocked by a tree.
Also a bit of information that could change people's minds on this is that the secret service cannot dictate what goes on at these rallies. By that I mean the politician and the politicians team who are setting up these events have full control on what happens and the secret service can only make suggestions on what they think needs to happen.
The problem lies in whether the joke, told to a wide audience was intended to be a joke or in actuality that person's opinion. When one can differentiate between the other that's when things become dangerous territory.

I've noticed lots of people seem to be shifting towards the belief that there is no good or evil and/or that good and evil are essentially social constructs. Not sure that represents the majority but I've definitely been seeing that sentiment pop up more frequently.
As a side note: The social construct thing is also dumb. All of society is a social construct. Just because something is a social construct doesn't make it inherently wrong or bad. A lot of social constructs are not only useful but are just about necessary for society to function.

iirc it was because most of the venues cancelled their shows in response to him saying that. It doesn't matter if it was "just a joke", it's over a grave and politically-charged topic and Tenacious D are acting as public figures. When they say something like that, it doesn't just come back on them but also the agencies and venues associated with them, and they most certainly don't want to be dealing any liability like that. Left-winger here. Gonna break down why Kyle's "joke" is a problem.
He said "Don't miss Trump NEXT TIME" - the implication was he was wishing for a next time, and that it would be successful. This - even as a joke - is an invitation. A hope that it'll happen again but be successful.
If he had said "I wish he hadn't missed" it would have still been a joke in poor taste, but would have just been a joke. You can't change the past and it isn't a potential dogwhistle to get someone to try again.
I don't like Trump. At all. But what happened to him was terrible and no one deserves that. To make matters worse innocent people died because of this. It's pure tragedy, politics never excuse this.
My heart goes out to the families who experienced loss that horrible evening and I do wish Trump a speedy recovery. I hope he and his family remain safe.
