I installed a Metalcloak lift kit years ago and have never been disappointed, it has performed flawlessly. Very cool to see how this long arm kit worked on your Gladiator with some great views to boot!
That gold looks so good but man did they hit the nail on the head with those matte black shocks with gold accents. They are LEGIT. Loved the under-vehicle angles too. Nice to see how it flexes and moves with the terrain.
Really like your content.. been debating long arms for my build for a while, think your review kind of seals the deal. Do you have a full walk around video? All the things you’ve done to your rig? Love the Van Halen wrap!
Thank you! I've been waiting on doing a walkaround because there are still mods that haven't been done yet..but I'll post one soon. I'm waiting to post a deeper review of this long arm set up until I've pushed them on the rocks a bit..once I do, I'll dig in a bit deeper on how they are. But so far I really don't have anything bad to say about the set up..other than the installation is a big deal.
Great informtion on this new install. I loved my MC on previous 2015 JKU, never an issue after 200,000KM. I'm seriously thinking of the new MC Black shocks for my Mojave (I have AEV 3" HD lift). Hope to see more reviews on the shocks performance and really curious how they will look after a winter of snow-salt-sand. Here in Ontario, Canada they also use brine, which destroys everything!!
I'm working on doing a more in depth review of the Blacks. But so far, they have been an improvement over the fox set up that came with the Mojave. The coating is something I can include more info on from Metalcloak, that brine stuff is terrible.
@@Venture2Roam thanks Will for your input. Looking forward to your wheeling adventures with the MC Mojave. Maybe time to try it out on that Diff-Hanger trail you just did with the 392...EPIC!! :-)
I wonder if anyone makes a jounce meter that can be reset for testing bounce and jounce. If you can find one that records the top shock/bounce amount of a suspension it would be nice to test it with full aired up tires, then with air down tires over the same road. You could also do a before and after test with stock vs. aftermarket suspension setups. I have not seen any other channel approach a test in this way and it might be a good feature for you to look into. Surely someone makes one that would give numerical data instead of just seat of the pants evaluations. Great video by the way and very informative.
Excellent question/request. I shared this with my buddy Nate Mueller over at Outdoor Auto..that might be right up his alley..if he gets the tool, I can come over and use it :)
I've been digging the channel. I liked the camera placement showing the suspension, it looks super comfy. Question, where did the 392 go and when did this gladiator come into the picture. I recall you selling your old jeep and seeing a fair bit of content in Moab with the 392, but I couldn't find a video of you introducing this Gladiator or what all you've done to it.
Right on, glad to hear you're digging around! The 392 is still very much a part of the V2R channel. Infact, my next vid will show us rock crawling with it as we practice for the Rubicon Trail, which was also a 392 trip. I've got at least one trip yet to film that will feature both. Here's the vid that introduces the truck..I'll have a build update on both coming soon as well. ruclips.net/video/msNmd0Yd93Q/видео.html

@@FrogRunner4x4 I didn't buy it all at once...but ya, it's not cheap to make adventure films!! It especially stings when you break a camera, or find out that the camera you bought isn't going to work the way you though it would.
I'm working out how to do a shock review...that's not a strength of mine..but I really want to try. I've got 4.88s...I'm leaving room for a V8 swap in the future...not 100% on it..but thinking about it.
Good luck. The Metalcloak front suspension pieces from my JKU are now expensive decorations in my workshop. Never could get the front end aligned or the steering wheel straight. Disclaimer, it was not a long arm kit, but was still a disappointment
That’s so sad to hear. Did you give them a call? They have so really good support people. I’ve done 3 MC suspensions now JK, JL, and JT…everything fit. Not to say we did call MC because we had issues during the install, but they helped us problem solve.
Yes, their communications were top notch, email and phone. I ended up at our local, oldest and best alignment shop. Coincidence.....the tech had a JK on the rack, same components, same issues.
Right now my truck is light and I’ve just been playing around with it. I had them set to 1 on the drive home from BC and it felt great. Off road I’ve had it on 5 and 8..both were good, but for higher speeds I liked 5. Definitely still experimenting.
@Venture2Roam i know that's hard, shocks reviews rarely do them justice. I just dropped a prorock 44 up front in my mojave with metalcloaks 2.5 lift. Still on OEM shocks with bracket risers and they are just not good for that, i feel like they blow right through their travel. Glad they are performing well, ill be trying a set soon.
Hahaha…I guess it is kind of was a commercial was it? I didn’t mean for it to be..I just wanted to get a first impressions vid out…but I’m clearly still in he honeymoon phase.
Outstanding camera placement to show the suspension working. Lance has a sweet ride too. Thank you for including us in this ride
Thank you! Ya I had fun experimenting with cameras…I learned a few new positions I’ll likely keep using.

Same here...it's going to be fun finding ways to push it.
Don’t let people make you feel bad about your bougie suspension!😂 for a Jeep… it’s looking good Will👍🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻 always awesome videos!
Lol...I love my bougie suspension. Hey I'll take any compliment I can get from a Toyota guy! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment man.
Mojave looking and driving good. Time to take it to the sand dunes 🙌🏽
Thanks bro...I agree, let's hit the dunes!
Looks great buddy!
Thanks Fletch!
Long arms ride SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good off road! Great video!
Thanks! Can't wait to document pushing it more and more.
I can’t believe you showed everybody your undercarriage! 😂 Sweet suspension! MetalCloak is unequaled imho.
Right? Typically he just shows the crack of his undercarriage.

I don't see the Onyx Oregon route link in description?
So sorry. It's coming...OnX is trying to fix a bug that's causing folk to have to log out and log in again before it displays properly in the app.
Looks great! But I don’t see the onX OR route you mention.
Bah! Sorry. I'm updating it now.
All that and still rocking the stock plastic bumper with no winch
Yep. I have bumpers, I’ve just been waiting to get this done before putting them on. Partly because they are heavy and I needed a regear first.

3 1/2 in front and 4 1/2 in the rear - because it will always be under load.
