A few critiques: -The whole part before the cadenza needs to be softer. -Roll the jumps much faster at the top of the second page. -The 2 measures leading up to the first cadenza are very uneven, and the entire cadenza should be played piano until the crescendo near the end of it. -Too much pedal during the first cadenza; try pedaling for 3 beats at a time, and when it repeats at the end, hold the pedal for only 1 beat at a time but only release it halfway. -Put much more emphasis on the crescendo and decrescendo in the first cadenza. -Too many pauses on the third page; practice it much slower until there are no pauses. -Jumps have to be much faster at 2:14 but DO NOT make the melody staccato. The same goes for the part where it repeats. -The second cadenza is mostly fine; work on getting it more even. -At 3:25, remember that the melody is in the right hand, not the left; there was too much emphasis on the high left-handed chords. That's all I noticed for now; make sure you practice at a much slower problem, and most of those issues will go away immediately. Also, could you ensure that the melody is always the clearest part? Sometimes, it gets drowned out by the other notes.
The part before the first cadenza needs to be clearer maybe but not softer. It’s supposed to be a building of tension and natural rise in volume and slight speed is absolutely a natural way to interpret the piece in my opinion.
Great expression honestly. I am in tears rn you have played it amazingly. Yea you had some playing mistakes but i do think its very normal and its honestly impressive how well you still played through it. Well done and i look forward to see more of your playing
Pretty good, I’m trying to learn this piece as well and I have some tips that helped me, first section u want to play a lot softer and a bit faster and make sure u emphasis the melody a bit more, the part after cadenza you want to play the middle arpegios quieter to bring out the melody like in the first section this will also make it sound a lot smoother, for the hard part I’d recommend listening to as much leibestraum played by pros so u can a good feel of the piece, I recommend listening to Lang Langs, yunchin lim, and lassis and Rousseau
Yes, the part after the first cadenza a feel is my worst one, it sounds kinda jumbled. The harder bits I find easier now, and there is still a wrong note hiding in there. How long have you been working on Liebestraum?
I started learning it around 3 weeks ago and used to practice it a ton but recently I started learning liebeslied so I kinda I don’t practice it as much even though I probably should because it’s still a bit wonky
Right now, Liebestraum isn’t really main focus, it was, but then sometime in January I started learning Funerailles and that became my main piece I was practicing. Right now, Liebestraum is just something to polish up. As of now, the main pieces I’m practicing are Funerailles, Il Penseroso and Nocturne in C# Minor. I’ll be posting an Il Penseroso and Funerailles vid soon if you care to check them out
Bravo! There were wrong notes, it's just like every 3/4 you stop a bit, so the quavers are still a little bt forced (maybe studying those with variants can help smoothing them out) and from 2:40 to 2:51 I think the left hand is one octave too low on those Bb notes BUT, other than these problems, resolvable studying, the interpretation is on point... PRACTICE and this will be perfect. You earned a sub! I'm really curious to see what you end up with
Yes, I played the left hand an octave lower on the Bb because I like the sound better. Traum (the piano RUclips) played it like that, so then I tried it out and I liked it better. This will be perfect by the time recital rolls around in a few months.
No, I did not share it anywhere. The thumbnail was a last minute thing lol. Also, are you asking for the sheet music a picture of the thumbnail? I got the sheet music from Kassia (a RUclips channel) on her Patreon. You don't have to pay for it.
@@pianoplayingfishkeeper2094 Oh, i see. I don't really want the sheet music lol. I was just interested about the photo, because it's really beautifull and I thought about using it for my Facebook cover or something like this 😅. But I can also print the screen (if you don't mind) You're really talented by the way. I Love that song, and maybe someday I'll learn some of it. 💕
The accompany part in entire piece should be quiter than main melody, e.g. first measure, C Eb Bb C That lower C is the melody, it should be play louder than Eb Bb C But with different dynamics just like play a melody, you can seperate this first so you can adjust when to play piano and when forte. Besides, I think there are some mesures being wrongly played, like extra melody should be pedal without repeating press. And middle climaxpart orgasm part the left hand Bb octave base should be played 1 ocatve higher.(2nd Bb And 3rd Bb), unless it's intentional with your interpretation. But don't worry, I can see your hands are big enough and the dynamic will built through play, but with active thinking! Good job with self learning I am also a relative new and also learning this piece by myself. It's actually not an easy piece but it need to sound clamx means we can't achieve it with tention and being nervous! Take your time💪
Yeah, I played that Bb octave lower on purpose because I like the sound better lower as it sounds more dramatic (in my opinion) and yes, I am aware that Melody has to be carried more instead of all the excess stuff, as well as the fact that there are wrong notes, but June is around my piano recital time so I am pretty sure everything will be perfect.
@@pianoplayingfishkeeper2094 Great to hear! You remind me someone play this at 3rd entry of 2nd theme of Chopin's G minor ballade.(probably created by Horowitz) I also saw Kasia use her fist to knock the lower bass Bb follow with thumb on higher Bb. In my taste, it's indeed a fresh intrepretation. However, I would only put it on 1st time(entry) but not everytime, otherwise it feels too counterintuitive and audiance might think you play with wrong note by misreading the score. It's just my opinion though. Look forward with your progress, and share is later ^^

I almost learned the piece but, the jumps and arpeggios(and the second cadenza) kept letting me down. So I try now and then to improve and correct the mistakes. Its a really fun piece, exceptionally beautiful.... *and torturous all at the same time*
