Ayushmaan Khurana chooses some brilliant scripts. I love him for that. Love the entire cast and it's great to see Raghuvir Yadav, Neena Gupta (still gorgeous!), Sana from Dangal (such a talent!) and of course, the lady who plays Dadi (I forget her name). Worth waiting for, I guess.
Don't understand why Mom is pissed with Dad. She was equally responsible, why give him the dirty looks? She participated, with consent (I hope). It always surprises me how people have sex without protection and then act surprised when it bears 'fruit'!!
I hope the message of the story is that sex is a very natural and basic human need and age has nothing to do with wanting it.
Thats the point filmmakers r trying to make.😁

You know, there are times that women think that they have hit menopause, so their husbands convince them to it. And she is more pissed of at what she has to bear all the crap the recent world would say to her and her family for bearing a child at that age. Tbh this wasn't a taboo back in the days, than it is now. That frustration is of that being expelled out on her husband. There are real life cases like that and it has happened in my family. I have seen this situation in my family as a first person.
watch the movie, you are totally getting the wrong idea. I dont wanna give any spoiler but no she wasn't upset about that but it absolutely something else.
She is only fed up of all the things she has to hear from ppl. Also many men like to do it without protection cz apparently it feels better (dont know if that's really true). They either pull out in time or choose safer days. Yes the message is exactly that and actually it was not such a taboo in earlier times. In earlier times ppl used to have 10-15 children (many diseases were there and survival rates were low. In most cases half of them wouldn't survive very long) and also there was no protection. So probably women probably would get pregnant until menopause. This taboo is something that exists in current times since ppl started family planning.

There was an awesome director called Puttana Kanagal in Sandalwood (Kannada) Industry, he made movies back in 70s and 80s. He was way ahead of his times and had explored 'live in' relationship in edakallu guddadamele' and 'Odepus Compex' in Ranganayaki. Especially Ranganayaki is a classic and requited guts to make without knowing if the audience would accept it and would it do well commercially. It is a story of a son who falls in love with his own mother without knowing ofcourse..
Kamasutra came out of India,it actually scientifically explains sex,techniques etc,but invasions made India a closed society

This story is like so like a story my mom told me about when she was in college, the mom of a young proffessor got pregnant and the prof was teased so bad all the time and my mom felt so sorry for him and when I saw this trailer it totally reminded me of that story.

There was a Malayalam movie called “Pavithram” with Mohanlal in the 90s that had this same theme. That movie was more serious than this one but it was considered a very well done movie at the time if I’m right.
