Just a point, the pants aren't faded. The earlier uniform is a signicantly different colour than the later ones. The change occurred in the early to mid 50s. That also accounts for the use of BD buttons. It officially replaced coveralls, and was the summer field training uniform, never meant to be used on operations, but it was too practical a uniform not to be used on deployments.
The earlier versions were the darker green, the lighter OD is the later pattern. Its very noticable in pics from Korea vs later. There's a great reference book by Parks Canada out called "Drab serge and khaki drill." Paste that into Google and it'll take you right to a free .pdf of it.
Still need to find a pair of trousers to go with my jacket. The jacket I have is the same colour as yours, but with a darker green belt. I have managed to find an unissued cap. Size 7 3/4", which is quite large. I'm not sure which type of shirt you said you were still missing. Thanks for sharing great detail on these.
I know you’re based in the west, but there was a gent in the Hamilton Ont area selling the trousers on FB market place, had about 10 pairs of them but they were generally 32” waist and smaller.
@@AirplaneDoctor_ I tried to figure out how to get on the Hamilton FB market place. Is there a phone number or email address? I appreciate very much your efforts to help me out on this. Thanks Airplane Doctor!
Absolutely excellent kit! Found some jackets surplus in Australia and wore them on exercises Really good fabric really good cut
I just recently got a jacket, also dated 1963! ❤

Good to know, thanks Graham! Nice to know the trousers are relatively early, I'll have to try and find a matching earlier jacket.

A uniform that's both practical and good looking? What is this witchcraft!
LOL
