Easy safe route: Drive first to far right then go up to Z Village, drive diagonal through Z Village to top left then drive to H2000 Water Comapny, follow the big bridge until you can drop down at the garage.
Dang, incredibly lucky with the tank barricades there. One of my tactics for this mission was to deliberately park a civilian car near the closest Max Paint. After getting the tank I would quickly use the civilian car to clear the wanted levels. No guarantees that it'd work since sometimes the car despawned or I got a tank barricade pretty much right outside the army base, but when it worked it really took off a lot of pressure.
I actually managed to complete this mission today. Someone in the comments said something about heading up to the Z village (go right as you exit the military complex and just head north), than go diagonally through the village to avoid the tanks. Get to the "bridge" at the northernmost part and just follow it. This allows you to drop down literally next to the garage where you're supposed to hand in the tank.
And that is one of the main reasons which made them so original. You really had to try EVERY possible solution from using glitches to prayers. :D I remember completing Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2 missions with a few units because reinforcements just never came. And I did not even know they were glitchy at that time, I thought they were supposed to be that hard. :D

Wow! You're very lucky that your tank survives intact, even though it's pretty damaged a bit. And you even managed to get past the tanks and avoid their shots coming at you! Lucky! :D
I always drove through the Village and that bigass bridge that goes over the RV Park. When I reached the garage, I dropped down and parked the tank in there.
As you notice, the base's guards are a brighter green than usual. The reason for this is they're spawned hostile pedestrians that patrol the Army Base with a color that's most similar to the army soldier color. The reason they attack eachother is because they seemed to forgot to program the ped guards to ally with eachother, as hostile pedestrians attack eachother if they shoot at the same time.
This is one of the hardest missions in the game! I always seem to get destroyed by those tank barricades. The industrial one is easier because the army base is close to the goal.
This mission too hard. When i ride on a tank into the destination point i always driven tank like a drunk or like a snake from one side of the speedway to another. But in the village too difficult: the buildings an narrow roads bothering you
It's even easier if, instead of staying on the main street, you turn left as soon as possible and go through the smaller streets. There are no tanks there.

The cars you find in parking lots never despawn, they are so useful in many missions and kill frenzies.
I used that strategy too. I remember this mission because of how impossible it seemed.

It happened to me too; after finishing the three yellow missions, the telephones were still ringing and giving me this mission for a second time.
