Looks so much fun! It made me really wish I could be playing with you guys. Glad you chumps didn't all die the second time around =P Thank you so much for creating this awesome video!
I’ve been patiently counting down the months and weeks for this KS to go live and didn’t think I could get any more pumped. Yeahhhhh. I was wrong. Thanks for this throughly informative and entertaining video guys!
Great run-through!!! This looks so interesting. Love the fact that all of you think it's challenging enough. I love co-ops that are like that. I would be interested in seeing what you have in mind for the reveals and how to expand after you finish 4 bosses. Next year will be too long to wait. Sigh
Totally agree. It being tough also means lots of replayability. I like that after each successful boss defeat you'll have a different set of levels, and a harder boss set-up for the next one. Facing the Fallen Gunslinger in Level One is NOT like facing the Level THREE Fallen Gunslinger, you know? Excited to see what that's like to play.
So enjoyed watching this played. Didn’t quite understand some of the play because I am just new to DT, but Manny and Nate, this is amazing and really works. I watched and then listened to discussion and just in awe of genius of this game and excited to see it continue. I did KS S1R and look forward to playing hopefully Adventure with others at our !GS that backed this. Congratulations and thank you! Also, there are a lot of great game reviewers, but you guys are my go to. Enjoy chit chat too. Thanks!!👍🏻😃
I know it's not complementary to your guests, but it's much more important to see the board than them. Also, the big banner at the bottom covers almost half of what we might otherwise squint to see of the board. Check out sequence at 14:00 to see what I mean. Seriously, I might as well be listening to a podcast.
Ric Bretschneider politely agree to disagree. David did a bang up job editing this and use a number of assets to show off the gameplay and keep the audience engaged and informed while doing so. I’m sorry you didn’t find value in the work.
At first I thought 'Enthropy' was a typo, but I realized it's yet another clever Dice Throne pun! :) Torture to wait a whole year for this one, it looks amazing!
"Enthropy can be regarded as states of randomness, or 'historical information' (that contains all the past conditions or history of a particle or system). Things (as a whole) always moves from neatly ordered state to untidy chaos."
I backed S2 on the hopes of the co-op mode being passable... so glad it looks so great :) Hopefully it'll see more support later, but I guess I'll just be happy it exists and looks sweet :)
@John Flores Sorry, I should have been clear by 'support.' I mean like, more loot, levels, bosses, campaigns and the like down the line. Happy to see everything to date (it looks like) is cross-compatible.
Awesome gameplay! Backed up the game already on Kickstarter. I love playing cursed pirate and I was wondering how does her board work in adventures? Does she still lose the same 4 hp every turn as the flipped cursed side? 4 hp a turn is a lot considering you will be starting with lower hp with other players.
Yes, she plays exactly as she normally does! We have successfully navigated multiple campaigns with her. But it definitely creates an edge-of-your-seat feeling doing it :D
It really helps that you only lose a doubloon at the end of a combat turn, so if you explore a tile without a minion you won't have to fight or lose a doubloon. As well, you can choose to try and run away from minions as well, if you're running low on doubloons and don't want to flip yet. Still, I think it will be so fun to see how the different characters play. I'm so curious to see if a tanky character like the Huntress does especially well against a glut of minions while the pyro with her glass-cannon play style will prefer to join fights other characters have already started. Only time will tell, but trying to play these characters solo will also be really fun and interesting. I like how you have to play your character differently than during a 1v1 duel.
Any plans for fallen boss miniatures to add to the board once the fallen boss is revealed? I can only imagine tipping that miniature on its side after a long battle would feel SO good! Perhaps an optional purchase through the Kickstarter??
Okay. A not so far fetched question...season 3 of dice throne. A character creation contest where the fans/customers can build a character that may be chosen/adjusted (by the dice throne gods) to fit the dice throne hero world. Can we make this happen? I’m not dogging your game either it’s awesome! Just tossing out ideas...
Looks great! Can’t wait to play! Manny would you guys ever sell a create your own hero set for DT? Just for home I’m kinda canibalizing a couple battle boxes I bought and doing an avengers set, my buddy is doing two characters himself, it’d be awesome to sell blank damage counters and cp wheels or even just decks of base cards you could use for your own decks.
If my group of friends go through a session and beat the first dungeon boss and progress to the next level but we want to pick entirely new characters, does any of the loot transition over to our new character or stick with our first character? Does only that specific group progress to the next level?
DTA represents a specific character's quest to defeat the Mad King, so you can't switch out characters. You could, however, trade characters with a friend that you're running through the campaign with. In that case you'd have to keep the loot that they chose for that hero in their deck. After you finish the campaign you can then start again with new heroes, which is something that will really add a lot of replayability to the game. That said, if you hate that idea, you could absolutely choose to pull out your loot and transfer them to a new character. Changing the rules to make the game more fun for you is absolutely allowed! But, personally, I really like the idea of following a specific heroes journey and watching them upgrade and develop and become more powerful over several play sessions.
Do the players ever have to make decisions for the Fallen? When a roll could potentially be applied to several abilities which one does the Fallen choose? Thanks!
There are priority ratings on the Fallen's abilities itself. If he could activate two abilities at once, he will choose the one with the highest priority level.
Thanks for the video! How is player elimination handled if someone dies early on? Do you just retreat? I’d hate to have a player sitting out for the remainder of the game. It’s not too bad if they die on the final boss. Also, is there any penalty for dying?
You could retreat the moment you find the boss. I've played 3 times now and have yet to have anyone die SUPER early...but I've not played the harder scenarios so it's entirely possible. There isn't a penalty if you die and the team wins...however if the entire team dies then you will lose half you gold.
@@happylittlecomicart5366 Ok, thanks! I guess if someone gets KO'd because of their own foolishness, they deserve to get penalized. But if their team lets them down.... Hm, not sure how a game system could make the distinction and penalize the group in a more judicious manner. But, in any case, my main concern was early player elimination. Doesn't sound like that's something to worry about in general. Thanks!
I really think that almost always someone will have a card, or step in to help a struggling teammate. After all, if they die that makes it even harder for you, so there IS a penalty to the team for letting their friend die. And on a meta level, if you don't support your friend and make them go sit in the corner while you finish, they're also probably not going to come back and play with you. So your party probably won't survive to the end. As well, it could vary between play groups, but if a friend of mine died early on, I think we'd rush straight to the boss and then flee.
Umm...this may be a stupid question but i am new to dice throne and was wondering how Kira has what looks like the remastered shadow thief, just wondering thanks!
You can play competitive dice throne with any two heroes, but DTA is an expansion that doesn't come with any of the heroes. IF you only pledge for Dice Throne Adventures, you'll need to pick up some heroes to play it with. You only need 1-4 heroes to play DTA 1-4 player, respectively, so you could simply buy an ~$20 Battle Box that comes with two heroes. You can find those in retail or online (They sell them at Dicethrone.com). That said, if you're like me, you'll love getting to try more heroes, so you might want to buy a full season. The Battle Chests contain all 8 characters from a season and it's a really beautiful and functional way to go. Season 2 you can buy on their website, and S1:R you can get on the Kickstarter.
Also, when he killed him - she rolled the die to add a chaos, and then do 1 damage per chaos. Should he not have taken 1 damage in response to the killing blow?
Kira at minute 28, explored are revealed Thorn Road II. No minion appeared. Then you guys cut. Question: Would Kira complete a full turn? Get a CP, draw a card and roll her dice?
Will the loot d20 be customized in the final game with the loot on each face so that we don't have to look up a loot table like some old war game grognards?
Wouldn't the Entropy Mage still have dealt 1 damage back to Manny when he rolled defense, even if he died? Also, shouldn't Jeremy have taken damage from the vampire even though he killed it during his defense?
Question.... With 3 out of 4 dead at the end.. would you say the game is harder if it’s a 2 player game ? Or is the difficulty about the same regardless of the player count ? I know they start with more life in the beginning with fewer players... but dang that end boss is tough to kill.
