The water is worked back into fresh soap, either from the bottom to the top or backwards in the case of trucks and trailers etc. In this way, the soap is used more efficiently. (If you wash from the top down, you would simply wash the soap off the vehicle which defeats the purpose). Then rinse from the top down to finish the cleaning process.
Oh man, gotta love the haters. Have you tried it?? I have and it kicks the dirt all over the place and you use very little. To be fair it does feel like cheating as it only takes a small amount of time to get great results and I.m using Nerta Blue Diamond. The Bio polish is great too but the wheel cleaner is my favorite. try it, you will not regret it.

Its easier ti rinse with a bent lance when the vehicle is high such as a trailer as you can direct the water more directly
