Wildman, great video! As a new resident here (on the Gulf side down by MM10) always trying to figure out how to find good fishing spots in the backcountry. Haven't quite mastered Google Earth and the depths here are tricky. How about a tutorial on bait usage for targeting fish (i.e.; use X for this species with a #5 circle hook, etc.) That would be awesome! Nice work.
Dude! I'm so glad I found you. What you do in this video is like a fantasy dream for me. I learned a lot from this video. I'm going to watch it again so it will all sink in. This was a great overview. I'm just a little confused because I'm totally new to this. Perhaps as a suggestion is not to take anything for granted, by that I mean don't assume everyone watching knows what you mean. I'm saying break it down so anyone will know what your saying. Another thing, this is so much to take in. Perhaps have a video for the person just starting out. For example, Coming down the highway to Key West (name of the highway), where to stop, where to park your trailer and launch your boat. From there, where to get bait, where to hotel, sleep, eat, or can you rent a boat, equipment, fill up air tanks, and perhaps, for a beginner, say start here, it's a great place to snorkel catch lobster fish, spear fish, park for the night? I'm saying lay out a complete agenda for a first timer to follow to the letter. There are people who have a paid subscription package on youtube for expats to visit overseas such as Vietnam, Thailand, Philipines, etc.and they have a package all set up like a formula for beginners to follow start to finish. Something like that people will pay for. Perhaps a focus on the boating aspect, and equipment. Anyway, thanks so much, this video is a blessing.
Definitely enjoyed your video, it sure has alot of information. Just like a lot of people they go down there and they don’t know exactly where to go. By watching this video and I will watch his video again to pick up a couple of pointers that you pointed out. Thanks again, great job.
Read my mind with this video, I'm planning a spearfishing trip but going off kayak so spots will be limited to being closer to launch points, still looks like a bunch of spots are gonna work
Thanks bubba!!! New timer here trying to fish here in key west. Got me a little bay boat for these water and hit up snipes!!! Looking to see how to find fishing sports. Great ideas to use Google earth.
I am going down there next week with the family. The only knowledge I have is months and months of youtubing. And, this is the first that actually helped me get an idea of where I’ll actually be headed. I’m renting a boat and want to get at least one lobster(get that and I told myself I’d be happy). However, I can’t dive that too deep due to health restrictions. Where was that at 1:16? Was that at the coordinates shown just before the clip? Can you spear out there on looe key? :D
You cannot spear on Looe Key. It’s a protected Park area. But if you go outside of the buoys to the west you can. It’s a lot of grassy sandy bottom but there is structure and reef here and there and you’ll float over a hogfish if your patient. The spots I zoomed in at the beginning of the clip hold a few hogfish and grouper too but they get hit often because they are so close to land. Put a bag of chum out while you spearfish and you’ll double your bag.
I’ve tried three times to get to Snipe Key but failed everytime but I’m trying to do it on paddleboard‘s from Sugarloaf --I think it’s just too far. Also the tide was against me every time.
Good video. I'd be interested in seeing a video talking about the different hazards or things to think about when navigating the Keys.... Will be spending a week down there in a few months so trying be prepared.
Best advise I can give you is buy a Florida Marine Tracks card for your GPS and you won’t have to guess. It’s the best navigational aid for the region. Will save your lower unit and make the overall experience more enjoyable because you will have confidence while on the after in new territory.
I plan on moving to Jupiter I'm from New Jersey I'd like to know all about the areas around Jupiter right to offshore maybe you can do that one huh I love this
@@WildmanWarehouse hey in a few months I'll be moving to Jupiter Florida I bought a 334 mako I like to invite you on to come fishing with me anytime you'd like I'll be glad to have you
@@georgeniebergall7074 Awesome!! Don’t put it past me! That will be perfect timing for the Goliath spawn off the beach. That’s a blast!! 100s of Goliath groupers on the wrecks in 50’ of water. Just run down the beach north until you see all the wrecks. I think Bullshark reef is the hotspot.
Most rentals on VRBO in the Florida Keys include a kayak or SUP. I’d recommend renting a house on the water with a paddle boat of some sort included or renting a boat. Lots of rental boats available in the keys by the day or by the week. It is well worth the money. The Florida Keys is best experienced by boat. I don’t have a lot of experience wade fishing but I’m sure that you could keep tight lines at any Channel with light tackle and shrimp. Mangrove snapper are everywhere!
The mangrove island I zoom in the video is packed with mangrove snapper. You will have to chum them up but that’s a great spot to take the kids if it’s rough offshore. If it’s not rough I’d run out straight South four miles between Looe Key and American Shoals. The reef runs all way down the edge between 30-120’. You’ll see schools of Yellowtail on the finder. The main thing you want to remember is chumming is the Key in the keys. The fish are more spread out and chumming brings them in concentrated. I have another video showing how to yellowtail snapper fish. I don’t have spots because the fish are everywhere down there. You can pick just about any random spot to cross the reed offshore and run down the reef line in 90’ of water and you’ll mark fish before you go 100 yards. It’s a lot easier if you have a gps anchor trolling motor.
Looking for a couple places to take a rental boat out starting from Key West. Would you suggest the Atlantic side or the Gulf side for snorkeling and sandbar relaxing?
We are heading down to Cudjoe Key in mid February and renting a boat. Do you have any information on fishing off shore? Also things that we must absolutely be aware of, my husband has no fear and that scares me.lol Thanks
As long as you keep it between the markers you'll be fine. Go and visit Looe Key! Try and visit picnic island as well. Offshore fishing I'd recommend hiring a captain and doing a charter for at least a day. Two Conchs is a little north of you guys in Marathon but that is where i would go.
We are staying in Marathon for a week and then open to a couple days in another spot. Can you recommend shallow snorkeling areas for us and also which other spot to find some as well after we leave marathon? Cudjoe area or Islamorada etc
Such a hard choice between Cudjoe and Islamorada. We names our boat after Looe Key a reef just four miles from Cudjoe but Islamorada is some of my favorite Spearfishing grounds. You really cannot go wrong either way. There are a couple of reef recommendations in my video for the Cudjoe area. Also an easy thing to do is spot a light house and head towards it. There will always be a reef and life as well as mooring buoys around the lighthouses.

That was awesome. Thank you. Can you do some of the same in the upper keys.
Awesome video. Coming down in May from Canada, first time to the keys. Trailering our 12 ft. highfield/15hp and Indians. THANKS!

I will let you know! We are going this Saturday
Cool. Y’all got Simrad? If you’ve got Simrad you need Florida marine tracks. Game changer
Thanks. I’ll be in cudjoe Keyes June 4, 2023.
Great content man, looking forward to catching up on the other videos.
Great vid! Thanks
Y’all have fun!!
Great info, thanks for sharing!
Great video brother!
This is exactly what we are looking for.
Do you know if jet skis are allowed to go to Content key?
I’ve never looked into it but I wouldn’t think twice about taking them. Be awesome!!
Thanks. You captured my exact concerns. I’d like to buy you a few beers
Man that’s awesome!! I did it because I needed it 10 years ago lol

100% love this

what kind of offshore fishing can I do on a 20' cc with a 150hp comfortably
How about some decent fishing spots for bottom fishing with kids. Like deep holes with coral bottom that aren't a super long ride from cudjo key.
