    Reza, how do you never fail to amaze me and all your subscribers. I am in absolute awe of how you make functionality that is so important and vital to users appear so straightforward in your 18 mins videos.
    I suspect, if I would try and achieve these outcomes it would take literally 60 hours (not 16 mins) and I will still never get there.

    It took me a long time to figure how to use two checkbox controls to filter a gallery. I ended up using an If statement to apply different Filters depending on if a checkbox was selected which made the code twice as long. But the way you showed it is much neater. Thank you for continuing to enlighten a rookie like me.

    This is great! One of the reasons I will shy away from Power Apps vs using list is because of the built in functions like filtering and clicking on people values and being able to dynamically get their contact info or start a chat with them. I find these so useful in my day to day. But this was really cool to see done in PowerApps.

    Reza you did it again! I was looking to enhance my "filter dropdowns" for a gallery as I didn't like them (they were just "ok"). I really like this, but in addition can I use gallery "if" statements to default to a status such as "in-progress" when a user arrives to the app? I have a requirement to show that as main view, but also filter the same stuff you just taught.

    • @RezaDorrani
      @RezaDorrani  3 года назад +1

      For the radio button control, you can set the default selection to "In Progress". This will ensure that filter is applied when user logs into the App.

    • @RezaDorrani
      @RezaDorrani  2 года назад +1

      Thank You!
      The IsBlank checks are running in an OR (||) condition with the filters.
      If IsBlank condition is true (empty scenarios), the OR function will evaluate to true.
      true OR anything else is true! Hence it will return all the results.

    Another great video, Reza! Do you have any recommendations for how one might apply a filter between two dates? I was able to add this to my filter pane and the filter seems to work; however, I am stuck on the following issue: if one of my dates is not selected, then no items will appear in my gallery. I suppose the solution I am looking for is something that will say if the From Date Picker is blank, then the From Date would be 01/01/2001 (this would capture all dates from before) AND if the To Date Picker is blank, then the To Date would be Today. I have seen some videos out there with some different solutions, but none seem to work easily with the Filter Pane I created using your tutorial. What are your thoughts?

Is it possible to have a SharePoint custom form that is surfaced on a SharePoint site via a quick link return to that SharePoint home page when the form is saved instead of navigating the user to the list? Great information, as always Reza, thanks so much for your excellent videos. I've run into an odd issue, the Filter works well for my controls (three dropdowns), but as soon as I add the text search to the delegable Filter, not all records are returned from the SharePoint list. Currently this is a small list, but has the potential to grow so I'm trying to build to work-around the delegation issue. It is always the last three records that were added that will not be included with the search piece intact - as soon as I remove the search piece they are included in the result set and filter correctly. What might I be missing?

    Any way to display documents from multiple libraries using the same concept (site column) in one gallery? Trying to create a single gallery view for multiple doc libs. Not sure which functions to use or how to configure it

      @RezaDorrani  3 года назад

      You would need to load data from both libraries into a collection. A gallery only works with 1 data source. I do not have a video on this use case. I would recommend to post your query on the forums at powerusers.microsoft.com in case someone has done something similar.

    Hi Reza.. I tried to recreate the editable grid experience by watching your video and tried to bulk update using collection.. The only difference was I used a Text box, a Radio button( choice) and a Toggle.. strangely the onchange, on select are not working as expected to store the updates.. Can you tell me for the above inputs, where should I write the collect/ update query ?

    Is it possible to patch set variable or update context variable or table without using collection

      Patch function accepts single records or collections. You can use either.

    hi reza, what if due date of a record is empty? how do you add that to the gallery where the records should only show due dates that are not blank??

    Hi Reza,
    I have followed the video step by step to apply the status part, I have the status column that is a choice field in my sharepoint list, but I want the "Completed" items to initially be invisible in gallery, I want them to show only when user selected "Completed" choice from filter pane. how can I achieve that?

    Hi, thanks for the video. I tried to copy the same code into the search textbox, but it returns "Expected Text Value", and that my filter returns a table value which is not compatible.
    Filter('testing action item',StartsWith('Action Description',TextInput2.Text))
    Where 'testing action item' is my source list, and TextInput2 is the search textbox.
    Could I get some help on this?
    Thank you!

    How can me make the filter pane as scrollable ? half of the filters I add is not displaying within the screen

    • @RezaDorrani
      @RezaDorrani  2 года назад

      The container control where filters are added can be a responsive container which overflows & shows a scroll bar.
      Give that a try.

    I tried to recreate this. However, when i cut my gallery and paste to horizontal container, the positioning of gallery icons and labels were shuffled. What should i do?

    • @RezaDorrani
      @RezaDorrani  3 года назад

      You can use the responsive container control properties to re-position gallery + update the gallery template size and controls within gallery. Difficult to explain here on chat.

    Hi Reza Dorrani, I would like to say its really great Job what you are doing, I need small help if you don't mind, I followed all steps that you have mentioned but unfortunately i am stuck in detail and Display forms, they are not getting data from The Gallery under the Container, I do have the below in my power app
    BrowserScreen1: Horizontal Container , BrowserGallery1, Filterpane,
    DetailScreen1: DetailForm1, EditeScreen1 where i have the EditForm1
    I created in DetailsScreen1 "DetailForm1" and in EditeScreen1 "EditeForm1" under Item: BrowseGallery1.Selected but it does get any data,.
    I have created new screen "BrowseGallery2" and another screen to create "formviewr1" without any Container and it gets data, when i pointed GalleryScreen2 to my "detailscreen1" and "editscreen1" it acts crazy and dose not give the right results.
    hope you have solution to let both Edit and Display forms to read data from the gallery under the container

    Great content as usual Reza, but what's with your audio lately? It's cutting off to complete silence after you stop speaking and it sounds so unnatural.

    Let's push the subs number to 32k by eoy go folks especially those whom desperate to see something new in SP...Here we go with Reza SP won't be boring anymore .
    Well done Reza , it's really wise that you're investing much in the SP area b/c SP is here to stay and that's the only realistic and viable solution for most org/companies at least at this point so we've got no option other than sticking around. Nope , No CDS or premiums for most of us even in the near future so any SP related content will be very appreciated . At least could you please give us advance notice in the video highlight when you use premium features.Thank you bro. .

    Hi Reza, How do I put a scroll bar inside a gallery on a individual data card so that data within the card can be scrolled through. Like I have a data card that have a ton of zip codes and I need the user to be able to scroll them in that data card within the main gallery.
