믹키가 원래 좋은 사람 이었는지는 경험해 보지 않아서 모르겠지만 영상을 제작하면서 인간적으로도 발전하는 건 눈에 보이네요 타 크레이터들에게 구독자들이 성공했으면 좋겠다라는 말이 크게 공감 되는 건 아니였는데 믹키가 꼭 성공했으면 좋겠다는 생각이 드니 공감이 되네요

외국인들이랑 사귀면 나이 생각이 안남. 전 여친이 22살이고 나는 27이었는데 여자친구가 더 어른스러웠던듯. 한국인들 요새 꼰대척결이니 어쩌니 해도 정작 본인이 그 정도 나이나 자리에 도달하면 거진 똑같아짐.
만디님의 서울은 수많은 각도에서 볼 수 있어서 좋다는 말이 참 인상적이었어요! 만디님과의 영상, 추억,.. 들을 생각하고 만디님을 위해 어떤걸 하면 좋을지 생각하셨을 미키님이 참 멋지고 사려깊어보였어요! 그리고 70년대 교복을 입어보는 멋진 아이디어를 생각해내시다니!! 게다가 만디님은 정말 멋지게 소화해내다니!!! 완장 찬 미키님도 아주 잘 어울였어요:) 만디님이 진심으로 좋아하고 행복해 보여서 제가 다 뿌듯하네요! 저도 70년대 교복 체험하러 가보겠어요. 오늘도 좋은 영상 잘 봤습니다!!

만디 왤케예뿜 진짜ㅠㅠ 교복이 아주 착붙이네!!
만디 이제 안나온다는 줄 알고 순간 놀랐어요!ㅋㅋㅋ 그리고 왠지 한국말로 대화하는 한국사람과의 나이차보다는 영어로 대화하는 외국인 친구와 대화할 때는 그 나이차이가 훨씬 덜 느껴지는 것 같아요. 물론 일반화 할 수는 없지만 우리나라에서는 한두살 차이로도 깍듯하게 언니나 오빠로 모셔야하는 경우가 종종 있는데 외국인 친구는 나이차이가 그 이상, 배로 나더라도 훨씬 편하게 더 친구로서 가까워지는 느낌이더라구용:)

재미있게 봤습니다 ㅎㅎ 요즘 우연히 알게된 Casey Neistat Vlog 영상을 많이 보고 있는데 세련된 느낌이 비슷비슷 하네요 나날이 발전하는거 같습니다!
Wow, this video was fun but also revealing in a lot of ways! Of course, everyone wants to know something “behind the scenes” - and _definitely_ if it involves *Mandy* - so you grab the viewer right away.
*Mandy’s* explaining that her host family went to Pyeongchang to watch ice dancing at 0:33 but you’re looking around, completely amused, like you have an audience or something. What’s up with that? ㅋㅋㅋ
That whole sequence starting at 0:38 is so lovely-it feels relaxed and easy-going. CafeTravel, with that rooftop terrace, seems like an ideal place to hang out (even if the terrace seems a bit damp and chilly on that day) and enjoy views of Seoul, which *Mandy* seems to like doing. (She was doing that a few months back in that 만디를 더 자주 보고 싶으시다면 video.) And *Mandy* _does_ look like a Samsung model with that mobile phone!
“Do you trust me, by the way?” 2:40 ㅋㅋㅋ My favorite line in the whole video-it’s that subtle, “by the way” delivery that makes it.
“Mother’s love” 4:45 That poster of the mother holding the rod with the kid-that has to be some sort of private (religious?) poster. (It doesn’t look like an official public service announcement.) Actually, I could have predicted *Mandy’s* reaction but I was kind of curious about what _you_ thought about that…
The fun part was obviously the school uniforms.
“Your girlfriend could get into the room.” “She’s not my girlfriend.” 5:24 ㅋㅋㅋ It’s like a running joke throughout the “Mandy series”-in the comments, too-people just assume what your relationship is, and, given the topic of the video, it’s subtly ironic.
*Mandy* seems charmed when she sees you in that school uniform and you get a kick out of how her red lipstick looks great with her uniform. (It’s funny how that worked out.) There’s that great montage at 6:17-you guys are just having a good time-take a look at that “case toss” at 6:34-it’s goofy fun-all of it is kind of an indication that whatever went on before has been washed away.
Of course, the revealing part is about the “Mandy videos.”
“From a certain point I found it difficult to make videos with Mandy. When I realized I was making videos to make ‘Mandy videos’ I felt I was lost.” 3:45 That’s the most revealing statement of the whole video and, actually, a really painful comment.
That whole sequence at 2:41 is wonderfully done, with the graphic, the montage of “Mandy videos” and a bit of a Motown tune (it seems like you like Motown for “friendship/good memories”)-it’s sweetly evocative of all the past moments, then that image of feeling “lost,” and then that scene where you are talking to us at the ledge. That scene is beautifully shot, by the way. The camera on the ledge, with you leaning on the ledge-it feels like you’re really leveling with us, like you’re revealing something deeply personal (which you are). And that sunset in the background, which causes your face to be in shadow, the lights in the street below, that sort of wintry feel-it feels, quite literally, dark and cold, it reflects the difficulty and seriousness of what you’re feeling.
“As a person making videos, I had to understand people showing up on my videos.” It’s _true_ but, really, I think you had to understand yourself also. If you’re making videos just to make “Mandy videos” it feels like you’re betraying her-but, maybe even worse, you’re betraying _yourself._ (As always, these films really aren’t about what you _do_ in the films, like, here, wearing 70s-style school uniforms-they’re kind of about what happens _when you make films_ about what you’re doing.)
So you’re Mickey Seo, what do you do? Well, you do what I think for you is the only thing you _can_ do, well, two things: first, you level with the viewers about what’s really going on. Of course you want to be “authentic” but that’s also simply “what’s true”-your videos are you figuring out you and the world, and well, _that’s_ what you’ve figured out. Of course, that honors us, too, because you’re not hiding the truth from us. And, second, you figure out what it is that *Mandy* _really_ wants-that honors the friendship and it lets you feel “whole” again because you’re acting true to yourself and helping *Mandy* act true to herself (i.e., she’s doing something she really wants).
There’s the lovely resolution at the end-the crumpled up piece of paper-which was a symbol of despair before (“I felt I was lost”)-is uncrumpled and we see a shot from the very first video of you and *Mandy* together with your note “Thanks for loving Mandy videos so far.” It’s a really beautiful reaffirmation of your friendship and it means you no longer feel trapped or “lost” by these videos-it lets us know everything is OK.
A few more “film observations”:
Actually, I loved how you printed and marked up all the videos in the opening. (I would have been lazy and taken a screenshot and inserted that into the video but your way is so much better-I guess it’s Casey-inspired?) I’ve said it before but your graphics are always so great-you really know what makes it easier for the viewer. (I’ve never said _this_ before but I think you’d make a great teacher, not that I am suggesting that-you just have this fantastic sense for what the viewer/listener would like or needs to know.)
The “long shots”-like at 4:42 and 7:01-are perfect. I’m always fascinated by those because you have to so consciously plan them-and you have to get your friends to go along with them-and yet they always look natural and uncontrived.
The time lapses (like at 4:04 and 7:48)-these look more cinematic than before. Is that my imagination or your new camera? These are like “time passing” (obviously) + “contemplation” (to me, anyway). I really like these-they’re beautiful, of course, but, really, they let the viewer breathe for a second. It’s like a moment of relaxation after some “emotional” stuff (your revelation, a fun day).

First of all, I'm a person grown up here and I do have a lot of experiences getting physical punishments like most of my other peers. I've never felt it was a bad thing, and even now, I believe properly controlled physical punishments are not necessarily bad for the kids, even though I know it can sound crazy for some people haha.
Thank you for your film observations, too. For the time lapse, Canon 80d is doing a better job especially 'cuz it has bigger image sensor than G7X mark ii. I'll get more used to using this :)
The printing and making little stuff on the table was something I stole from Casey; I mean, I learned so many things from Casey, you know; also, he's not the only RUclipsr who I've learned techniques from. As time goes by, I got to realize which one was more like mine, and which one didn't fit to me. From then on, I've unconsciously abandoned many of Casey things, but printing and making little stuff is something I feel really comfortable.
I'm a person who is sick of the digital world. I understand we need most of them, cuz it's really useful, but I hope we don't forget the beauty of the analog things. Sometimes those little papers and drawings can look stupid and imperfect, but that's exactly how I am. I don't think I'm gunna break and make fancy stuff like Casey does. All I need is just a little scissor, a cutting knife, a glue, and some paint markers, which I think it's pretty much me, and I find it more inspiring and romantic than any other things.

Ha, “not necessarily bad”-well, that might not be good, either. Thanks for sharing your viewpoint. Actually, my dad would (occasionally) hit me as a kid (my mom was against it) and, even as a little kid, I thought it was a bit nuts, like “ _That’s_ the way you’re going to get your point across? By brute force?” (But I was an atypical kid, maybe.) It wasn’t _necessarily_ bad but I wouldn’t say it was really effective, either.
Really, I _like_ that those things look imperfect. It's just right for your videos and it fits you and your style really well. If things are too perfect and polished, they would seem wrong. You’re not making a presentation for Samsung-you’re chatting with us. And they do feel more inspiring and romantic, too, maybe because they’re obviously hand-created! Analog things _are_ really beautiful!
