I work in sleep and respiration. Ideally, your mouth should be closed at night. An open mouth doesn't always mean you are breathing through your mouth though. Nasal breathing helps to humidify and filter the air better as it enters your lungs. Having a closed mouth and tongue on roof of your mouth helps with proper facial and dental development. If your kids can't breathe through their nose, it may pay to get that checked for allergies etc.

And also, the baby gets the feeling of being safe when their parent sleeps with them. Leaving the little baby alone will make them feel "Alone" & also "Scared". 😢

no, no and 3x no. In most cases the mouth opens, especially when lying on the back BUT not everyone indeed breathes through the mouth. Mouth breathing is really bad. Not only does it dry out ur mouth and teeth which leads to dimineralization it also dries out ur tonsils which can cause more throat infections. Also the air doesn’t get filtered.
I learned that I have a tongue tie which can cause mouth breathing when sleeping. Tongue ties can run in families. They can cause issues with speech, swallowing, and can cause orthodontic issues when they change the shape of the palate (the tongue pushes the teeth forward). I wish I had my tongue tie released when I was a baby because now I would need jaw surgery to widen the palate. I also have problems swallowing drinks because of the tongue tie. Anyway, just a FYI for people who mouth breathe to look into the tongue tie possibility. When you open your mouth fully, you should be able to touch the top of the roof of your mouth with your tongue (or come close). If not, the tongue might be tied or restricted. Many doctors and dentists don't know about tongue ties but there are specialists who concentrate in it. Some pediatric dentists, some speech/swallowing therapists, some ENTs.
There are a ton of videos with babies after tongue tie surgery on RUclips and they include nurses who come to the home to show parents how to do facial and sucking exercises post-surgery.

Mewing works best if you are a teen or young adult and it will also make your facial features more defined because your jaw will push out and support your upper facial bones well so they will grow and set in the right place. It helped me but I wasn’t that big of a mouth breather in the first place
As a dentist i suggest they get checked to see the physical reasons behind that and solve them otherwise they can have they face growing a certain way rather than the other ( longs face + open mandubular angle + tight maxilar bone etc ) nothing dangerous but better help them grow correctly to avoid braces and surgeries later God bless your kids and family

Cute vedio but As a med student I have to say mouth breathing is not normal/ideal for kids as it will lead to future facial abnormalities in the sinus developments so its best to take them for adenoid tonsil check up or nasal obstructions by their doctor, the earlier the detection/trestment the better, hopfully its nothing significant
Thats true. I observed how my parents breath since i was small. I used to sleep between them. While my mom had short breaths and sometimes was usual, my dad used to have long breaths. I thought long breaths will take out more CO2 so i decided to follow my dad 😅
