Great Job! Well done. I'm going to go out today and buy a jelly roll, just a small one and make a throw quilt of it. I love the way you can mix it up a bit and change the way the blocks lay. I'll be watching out for you when I'm on RUclips. Have a great day!
Thank you so much! I truly appreciate your encouraging words. Be sure to send us pictures -- Facebook page called Crazy Dave's Crew or Facebook group called Sewing and Crocheting for Beginners.
That is gorgeous, the colours are really beautiful, you are right, there is a wow factor too it. My mum quilts a little, I am not very good at it. Great tutorial.
Thank you very much. I'm so glad I joined Quilting Swaps and Challenges for Beginners - the admin (Nahaci) is so sweet to teach me some tricks and give permission to video. If you want to learn, we've started a group (sewing for beginners) and I'm adding learning units that will have some basic sewing projects and tips.
Thank you. All credit goes to the admin (Nahaci) of Facebook group - Quilting Swaps and Challenges for Beginners (facebook.com/groups/177486683016891/). She taught me how to do it. Made the video originally for the group's swap events.
I finally made one of these fantastic blocks but now I have the problem of deciding which way I want the pieces to go to make the block. hahaha one problem solved and another one created.
Thank you for sharing this Laura. I am a beginner and I saw a similar video by Missouri Star Quilt Company, but I did not know blocks had to be squared up. My blocks came out really wonky. When would be the right time to square up a block for any quilt? Is there a general rule?

Really there is no set standard. You should square up anytime you feel it is necessary. I would say squaring up more is better than less.
What size is your finished block?
Just a little hint, she did not create this method so no permission needed.
Thank you.
Please I know I’m 3 years to late, but please don’t sew around and then cut . your whole quilt will be on bias.
