Taylor Swift is mid both looks wise and musically. I will admit that many of her hits like Love Story, Blank Space, and You Belong with Me are nostalgic for the Millennial generation. I hear them in the mall all the time. But the media saying the Harris-Trump race was close is proof how a system can prop people up.

As someone who lives in the South, she didn't sound like she ever had a Southern accent. From the first clip, she sounded like she was from Pennsylvania, which she is. I HAVE heard her "put on" a Southern accent, but it always seemed like she was using an accent to be funny, it wasn't how she spoke all the time. I've heard her use a few different accents, which show that imitation and mimicry are other talents she has- and it's always her being goofy, nothing more. Some of her early music sounds like she's singing with a bit of a twang, but so what? She was making country music, her primary musical influence growing up.
I'm not American but I was thinking the same. Though I think she did have some accent especially visible in some words in her first few albums. An example off the top of my head would be how she pronounces 'well' in all too well and 'red' in Red. Now her accent includes a bit of British in it. Especially for some words or phrases.
Yes im from and live in Tennessee and I completely agree though I believe also when your around people or in an area with a strong accent for some time you do tend to pick it up as well so that too could be it
Not to argue the fact people cannot pick up dialect from places they live, but I was about to say, she is originally from Reading PA (50 miles NW of Philadelphia). Some Pennsylvanians have an accent which varies from different regions. (Side note: Western PA is *very* different from Eastern PA). Philly pronounces water as "WOOD-er." It's mainly bc she didn't have consistent mainstream success till the Red era (2012). She did start being mainstream when Fearless came around in 2008/9 but Speak Now didn't get much airplay in the early 2010s. If you were born like post 2004 or your parents weren't listening to the radio back then, you wouldn't remember.
