This works or leave the line attached to the rap rings and undo an end of the tree huggers from the crab....can leave set up, but check the line regularly for stress.

Why does it slowly sag, tried large and small rings.

You NEVER want to hang a hammock as tight as in this video. One way to gain mechanical advantage is to pull on a taught rope which is what you're unintentionally doing here: when you get in it places a ton of strain on your gear and on your anchors (trees, rocks, etc). It's also not very comfortable and will never be perfectly flat no matter how tight you pull it. The correct way to hang a hammock is to hang it very loose so that the angle between your straps and the ground isn't less than 30 degrees. You then lie diagonally in the hammock and it becomes almost perfectly flat. I sleep every night in a hammock and this works and is WAY more comfortable than hanging your hammock tight!

I didn't know the trick was to lie diagonal, thanks for sharing will try this the next time.

He’s just showing that you can pull that rope in tight. He wasn’t suggesting to hang that tight.

Why not just use a clove hitch?
