For everyone who gets tired of connectors banging together and breaking, use a couple of event controllers. Set one for connecting and put in first slot thrusters off and recharge on. in the second slot thrusters on and recharge off. the second event controller is for disconnecting. In first slot put a timer block that turns off your connector for a few seconds and triggers a second timer block to turn connector back on. Every time you connect, it does it so rapidly that your connectors don't have time to hit each other.
