As the months/year goes by she’ll be able to eat all that 😂😂 I used to eat everything I wasn’t supposed to and no brackets broke. She’ll learn different ways to eat the things she enjoys.
I totally understand her attitude towards braces. I myself was skeptical about them. I think it should look "better" to her once the bottom ones are on so that both the top and bottom look similar. Also shouldn't hurt too much to indulge in a little popcorn, so long as you brush a lot. I actually avoid popcorn even without braces but I sorta was pressured into eating some a few times. Didn't get any cavities despite SOME indulgence in skittles. I'm not encouraging too much eating the foods that are on the list not to eat, but a little bit doesn't seem to hurt much. Also, if you're really feeling sore, ice cream and cold things are your best friend as they help a bit with the soreness. Enjoy that while you can :)

I’ve been there with the braces. I had to have braces twice! After the first orthodontist didn’t do them right. Not fun.
Dear Emberlynn - didn't know you were facing braces! I had braces. Something I can say is stay stocked on Advil, Tylenol, and I hope she likes mashed potatoes.

Yes, you can have sugar-free gum. You can cut the corn off the cob. My oldest had to wear an expander as well. After he got his braces off he got all the treats he couldn't ear. Get a water pick to help clean in between the braces.
