Hello and thank you for a great review! ^^ I got this card about a week ago, and I'm really new to the PC gaming scene. The only game I have so far is MH Rise, been getting an average temp of 60c if playing in 1080p or 75c if I crank it up to 2560x1440p (with 144 HZ). Are these temperatures ok? The fans get kinda loud in the latter scenario so I mostly stick to 1080p.
Your case ambient is a little warm (probably around 35*C) but all good for me. I'd say just stick to 1440p and adjust the fans. Temps should increase but you really shouldn't worry unless it goes past 90*C.
considering i prefer 1080p 144hz monitors over anything more this card is perfect for the next 5 years at least at 1080p. my gtx 1080 still runs new games medium-high at 80-100 fps. good investment just picked one of these up for 400 even. i think its a good deal.
soo 70c in mid atx case with 2 stock 140 intake fans without any curve fans is ok its summer here and outside is around 32-35 degrees i dont have ac is really hot in my room also
I have had the same GPU from launch and and I have been very impressed with the cooling on this GPU . However since new one of the fans has a slight ticking sound at low RPM. It is hard to tell if its electrical noise or pulse. Is this normal - is yours like this? Its sound like an uneven bearing and was even thinking of removing the fan sticker. Its not easy to RMA these cards here in Europe as the warranty and replacement are handled by the retailer and not Asus. I can get a set of official OEM replacement fans from the US including shipping for 55 USD then I would just pay tax on top. Btw - my GPU is mounted vertically.
Download MSI Afterburner and go in to the fan settings and make a custom fan curve. I have them turned off until it hits 50C. When not in use there is no need for cooling. The case fans will actually keep it around 40-45Its around the 1000rpm mark they start to make some noise, 1500-2000 there is just the fan noise. 0-50c 0% 50-60c 30% 60-70c 50% 70c+ 75% Hope this helps

@@fjalls Hi. I setup a cusom fan curve and I can still hear the bearings. Also istalled Asus GPU Tweak II so I can control the L&R + centre fans independently. The centre fan which spins in a different direction is perfect and has no bearing noise. The L & R fans are the noise makers with the L being slightly worst than the R. Its not really bad, its just I don’t like the tone of it. Do you know if its possible to install better quality fans from something like an Asus Strix that has the same dimensions, mounting points and connectors?
@@davieslm Some fans just have an annoying sound. id go för the ARCTIC P12 PWM 120mm or 140mm fans. They are quite cheap, they are quiet and they are good. PWN so you can control them. OR Be quiet are also good but costs a bit more I think
In terms of value, this thing wins hands down due to how high it boosts thanks to the cooling. That does come at a price but aside from higher boost clocks and looking pretty, an ROG Strix wouldn't really blow this thing away. Against cards from GALAX, ZOTAC or Palit, I think it holds up well and should rival MSI's GamingX models in overall performance. That applies to other GPUs as well, not just 3070/80/Ti. My personal reason was finding a brand I can chase easily when the card breaks. So far ASUS and ZOTAC has been the easiest for me that's why I go with their cads mostly.
it will work no problem, depends on your game how much of a CPU penalty you'd have but in all cases, its still going to be a decent gaming experience so i say go for it first then just get a CPU upgrade later

I have listened to thousands of other youtube videos, and the only time I ever commented about someone's speech, was this one time. If he made his videos, talking at a normal speed, you would hear the difference. If he made his videos, talking slowly, and purposefully speaking more clearly, then edited his videos, to play a little faster, he would still sound like he is talking fast, but his words would also be clear. I am an English speaker, and everyone I know talks more clearly than him ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ none of them talk for a living!

How long do you think this card will manage to handle games? I only play on a 60hz monitor, but don't really like 1080p

I ordered mine on Azerty at 30/10/2020 and i still dont have it. I was 25/310 on the waiting list and like 8 months later im 10/285 on the list.

What is your fan curve? On how many % fans are working?
Its always set to auto, i would assume it runs on around a little less than 60% but i havent really paid attention to it that much
