    For the haters on this thread, that boy has a 4.0 and has several academic awards. He was determined to be there and he did not ask for the media attention. When a child is trying to overcome be happy for them. Not hateful...

    Can we also acknowledge his brother and friend who took that journey with him. ❤❤❤❤ They wanted it for him just as bad as he did.

    I am so proud of you Xavier ❤ a lot of kids would've been like "Oh 8th grade graduation isnt important" and blown it off. But you showed DEDICATION, COMMITMENT, and DETERMINATION, and I am so glad it paid off young sir. I wish there was a GoFundMe for you

    My pastor, who is 98, walked 3 miles every day to go to school, and he would set traps for opossums in the morning, and on his way home, he would take the opossums home and that would be his dinner...no running water...no electricity...in southern Georgia living in a shack...Nobody in America has it that bad.

    Did he not have one friend whose parents could’ve driven him? This doesn’t make sense to me. A teacher could’ve picked him up or the principal? Come on!

    I can’t believe what I’m reading here! A kid walks six miles and gets a full ride scholarship, you’ve got to be kidding! That’s not much of walk by anybody’s standards! My cousin and I used to walk from Peterborough to Lakefield and back just to look at the J-Craft boats at a marina. It was eleven miles each way, and we never gave it s second thought! I knew an old man, Sam Cardwell now deceased, that used to walk five miles each way to work and back into Hamilton every day winter and summer to work at the Stelio plant! Have people really gotten so weak and useless that a determined six mile walk is considered something special?? Unbelievable!

      @joyceibanez8207 Год назад +7

      Well good for you. As a kid I walked everywhere too whether for fun or work. But things were so different then. I have much respect for this young MAN to walk that six miles in these days where people are so damned mean, and hateful that they would slit your throat to take your shoes. There are too many children today that would set and cry if they had to walk two blocks. So why can't you show some respect for a kid who earned what he worked for and went and got it. It's like damned if you do and damned if you don't.

      This amazing young man WALKED to his 8th grade graduation at school. He wasn’t looking at BOATS. Maybe if you were walking to school or the library you would understand your analogy is embarrassing.

    • @user-ti3vy4mf6p
      @user-ti3vy4mf6p 11 месяцев назад +1

      Believe what you are reading here. This is a hostile and dangerous world especially for people that look like Xavier. You may go to watch boats but Anne Frank could not do what you did. So do your research before you go thinking Life is a Walk in The Park for Everyone out here. Just recently someone I know lost their job because the bus stop is almost ten miles away and no one wanted to get up 4:30 in
      The morning to take this person to the bus stop every morning. The family do not own a working car and no funds to maintain insurance, etc So if the bus comes early, which it did, and you then call out, you are finished. One bus going one way before six in the morning. There are no transportation support systems out here and the fat rich folks could care less.❤❤❤
