Saints Row 2 Is So Underrated, Even in 2023

- Saints Row was always regarded as a GTA clone. But even with that, Saints Row 2 made sure to be a worthy competitor to the GTA Series, by focusing on fun activities, hilarious characters like Johnny Gat and an amazing amount of customization, all in 2008. Saints Row 2 is still a masterpiece in 2023!

My favorite thing about this game is how reactive the ai is. If you start a fight with a random pedestrian most will run away but some will come to help fight you, you can also stand behind another npc so they get hit basically sparking a riot. Maybe I just don't mess with random pedestrians as much as I used to but I can't think of many other games with ai like that
also the fact that anyone could carry anything... I saw a granny with a butterfly knife. it made me rethink who to watch out for lol
I remember I just spawned into the game and a lady was running around naked and the cops were chasing her and started beating her and then the Ronin just started attacking random peds and it became a full on shoot out between the cops and ronin lol
One thing most people miss with this game, is how tonally balanced it is.
For instance, there is not a SINGLE mission in the campaign where your spraying poop, pretending to be a cop, diving into trains for life insurance, or throwing people into helicopter blades because they wanted to get an autograph.
That is ALL based in the minigames that you need to play to continue the campaign.
Which does well to balance out the tone completely, like of COURSE the open-world is where you do the wacky shit, but in the campaign. You have Johnny Gat burying someone alive, a dude being roadhogged behind a car, and a man who gets his ear chopped off and beheaded on screen.
Something the later Saints Row games missed completely, when they combined the "wackiness" into the campaign itself which left no room for actual serious moments.
Yup. The game is able to be goofy but as an option. And its INCREDIBLY rare to have games nowadays giving players the option of how they wanna play the game. Which is genius, you make everyone happy
Appreciate ya for showing SR2 some love. Idk if we will ever see a game like this ever again. Its sad to see what has happened to the saints row franchise. Honestly feels like the people currently in charge ran it into the ground on purpose with the reboot. But with that being said, I encourage anyone who has never played the second game to please get yourself a copy and enjoy it. I promise you won't regret it, its in my top 5 games of all time for a good reason
its crazy the amount of stuff you can do in the game. And even if the story is goofy and tries to be ridiculous, it's still so engaging

Saint’s Row 2 is such an awesome game. It seems it was a blessing SR2 is backwards compatible on Xbox.
I played SR2 after playing all the GTAs, and it instantly became a favorite of mine.
I want more games like this, not like the ones after.

It's clearly that this game wasn't just a copy paste of GTA, like you said they made a lot of unique features in it and some of them even funnier than those from GTA
i love this game so much and www hoping for a remastered version with better control and everything.was truly a masterpiece.
I literally think this is the best open world crimr games of all time. Its up there with GTA IV.
Sad part about this game, on Steam it is a broken hot mess, not even the patch that were made by the developer (r.i.p) able to save it from the crash and volition barely does anything about it.

Just picked this up for my Xbox series S for 1,50. Pretty cool game but strange to play at first when you are a GTA guy. Its so similar. It does feel like the biggest clone but nonetheless very funny and cool to play. Graphics dont matter when you have a fun game
The only other game did better customizing on your houses was scarface the world is yours. That's one thing I wish we could have done. Bought lin and Carlos ashes similarto you buying gina and Mannys ashes in scarface video game. To display in your cribs but I guess having them as homies is better.

I wish they stuck to original Saints Row 3 formula, instead of the sci-fi over-the-top garbage half-ass story we got in "The Third".
If saints row is a gta clone then modern gta is a driver clone cuz they did it first. Saints row 2 is still better then any gta game
Driver is nowhere near the same genre as GTA. Even as a top view 2D game, GTA 1 broke ground in the genre. However GTA Online is absolutely a Saints Row clone. But a bad one at that.

As you said in your earlier videos that Gta is Open World so Saints Row is it's copy,then according to your logic Gta should be a copy of Driver
One Time Try Driver San Fransico and You will see that all three Driver ,GTA and Saints row are there own unique games which you are failing to see
@@ObviousMalcolm_PLUSi dont agree with calling any games clones of other franchises since most games are done different sleeping dogs u are an undercover cop who does work for triads and saints row 2 is gangsters and plus u make ur own character do activities take over strongholds buy stores pretty amazing not gonna lie i prefer the old gtas before 5 i feel sr2 has better story and gameplay than gta 5

Nah mate. This game was a product of it's time. Just like all the other great games that came out that year or around it. If it came out today, it'd be another SR 2022.

2 was the only one in free roams they react you as the girl if you pick Gender female... The rest of it still refer you as male...
I can say it SR its not GTA clone even Sleeping dogs,WD,And another open world games... While i think GTA is driver clone when i see it.
