I did not know if i dont recall seeing it or if ive ever seen it since i just turned 42..but i recall the jim henson story teller thats what brought me here but yeah this is some great stuff!
I searched for this for nearly 15 years, honestly thought I had hallucinated the entire series. Finally found it at an obscure online library on vhs. Then they did a limited dvd box set release which I will treasure to have in my collection, always. All I could remember was the song, so glad I solved the mystery as I am sure you are too.
I impressed myself by knowing all the lyrics for the theme song. Such lovely stories, enjoyed this as much as I dd when I first watched it at 10 years old.
For anyone who loves this series there was a limited box set edition of the entire series sold on amazon. Isn't currently available now but maybe you can find it somewhere. It's called Storybook International Collection Set. 65 episodes, 10 discs.
I remember this ..i first watched it when i was 13 mum was in the kitchen making tea..it was friday after school ..im 52 now and mum and dad are gone now ..our family home in Auckland Nz was sold in the 90's and ive now been living in Canada for almost 20 years😥😭
I watched this as a small child, and all my life, it has been bugging me. I could not remember what was on the other side for the Forbidden Door! I remembered the tunnel, but that was it. Although I do kind of wonder why Hakim can't just go through the door again from his palace at the end of the movie...
This is fantastic. Memories of my childhood, and I am 12 again. This story made me laugh. It's slightly sexist - with Hakim laughing at his wife for "being silly" which made me feel justice was done. Hakim was a disrespectful, possibly emotionally abusive, bigoted man. Also the song at the beginning says all the stories end with a "happy ever after" although I think Hakim starving to death and leaving his grieving widow behind is very happy!
+luckylouis 1 you have no idea how much memories and joy this is bringing to my heart and my little daughter loves it .. thank you so much for the upload will be looking forward to it :)
This has taken me back to my beautiful childhood, about 40+ years ago, when we would watch every episode on the national broadcast TV!

This episode was filmed in Jordan for sure. I remember watching this series dubbed into Arabic on Jordan TV in late 80's. It brings so much memories.
Amazing. This particular story and the soundtrack of the grieving sheik was in the back of my mind all of my life. What a wonder!
As with many others, thank you for uploading these. Both for the memories & the quality of the programme
I was looking for this EVERYWHERE. It took me years to remember how it was called. Thank you!
Eugenia Rose I couldn't remember what it was called either! I remember the "In Russia I am Ivan..." but, so googled it!

This came to mind a few minutes ago so I googled "I'm a storyteller" then found it here. I loved these stories when I was a kid!

I love this great Indian story showing you, that you should be content with what you have. This is a story from the Desserts of Northern India.
It’s the Middle East
@@wahidkhaliq4776 To me it's the same type of people. Indian and Arabs who can really tell the difference?
@@Tejaye777 huge difference actually .... two totally different race of people with vast distances separating them
@@wahidkhaliq4776 They are the same people living in different areas not too far apart. Arabs=Indians for me.

Hello, old friend. You never failed to tell me new stories as I was growing up.
When the giant fucked off, why didn't Hackim just make his own way back to the secret door and down the tunnel ?
This is in India.Love how they go around the world to showcase stories in different countries.
PimpThe478 Me too
This Arabic Story. Has nothing to do with India!
