Lmao never would've thought of killing them for the parasites 😅.
As for the contents of the scene, it really is yet another reiteration of "the circle of abuse", isn't it? Like, Astarion can become Cazador 2.0. Gortash's parents put him through hell and he bounced back and enslaved their bodies and minds. I'm sure there's more.
In a way, I feel sorry both for little Gortash and his parents here. But I also don't feel sorry for them because the parents basically sealed their own fate by selling their son into serviture/slavery, and Gortash could've, just, not been a wannabe tyrant, idk.

While good people can feel cornered into playing stupid games, it doesn't excuse them from winning their stupid prizes

Yeah, my Dark Urge was the second playthrough, so there was a lot of... experimenting. Also, not playing Honor Mode is nice because you can always undo stuff through saving.
And yeah, the circle of abuse is a big theme in this game. As much as I hate to admit it, the mom has a point, her solution did lead to everyone living, which is nice. But also, seriously, never sell your children to Warlocks! I feel like that's not asking a lot for cobblers.
It is a sad story, though. If there was a way to cure them, I would. But there isn't. So if you want those extra powers, and you're not opposed to going after a Big Bad's parents, this humble shop is the place to go!

@@QueeckTeeps they should be cured if you destroy the brain since you tell it to kill all tadpoles. Of course, no in-game way to check it out.
Gortash doesn't get such a (potentially) happy ending, though 💀

@Kasiarzynka yeah that does make sense, but it doesn't feel real unless we see something as a result of it.
I think even if you spare them, they don't send you a letter or anything for the epilog explaining that they are all better. But I'm not exactly sure. Luckily, epilog stuff is one of the few things I can check on my Wyll "good boy" Honor Mode run. I had, so many excellent moments for Teeps in that run, but with only the 1 save, I can access anything that happened along the way for Wyll's journey.

@tyler.richards1 yeah, the big take away here is: "don't use Loan Sharks who as so scary, that you are tempted to LITERALLY SELL YOUR SON TO A WARLOCK!"
I thought I wouldn't need to say that, but some parents don't get it.

Haha, yeah, it's a very unassuming shop. Once I found the Big Bad's parents with my Dark Urge playthrough, I knew what had to be done.
Also, there is no cure for Illithid parasites and they sounded like they were suffering.
Plus 2 powers at one place is always nice!

@@QueeckTeeps besides those two gave their son away. They had their reasons but damn I now get why Gortash is such an arsehole

I currently have a stash of like 25 parasites at my camp. I haven't used a single one, and I'm not planning to.

Nice! Yeah, I was running parasite-less campaigns with some of my friends, but they fell off the game. I've still never beaten the campaign without powers. Whenever I play, I like going faster and being stronger. Usually that means I'm willing to pay the price and she'll out for my illithid overlords

@@QueeckTeeps Thats fair, but in my current build I don't really need the parasites, and I find the thought of using them revolting lmao. I've only played on Balanced mode too, but I'm planning to do a Tactical run some day. Maybe I'll use them then :)

@1337-Nathaniel Nice, yeah I'm very evolve/"sell your soul for power" in play, but I get it! That's how I was with Karlach and Soul Coins. She said it made her burn hotter (ya know... her biggest problem), so I never used them again and ended up having a huge pill of them by the end of the day game.
Keep up the good fight going without cramming a bunch of parasites in your eye! Also I suggest Honor Mode, if you lose the 1 save, then you can continue in Tactician which is a nice safety net, plus you can keep the Honor Mode mechanics or disable them for the rest of the run if you lose. I'm tempted/excited for if I lose my Karlach Honor run so it's easier for me to record Queeck Teeps.
