That fan said something very true. Watching these videos for so long gives you the impression that Lee is someone as close as a good friend, and it's actually very heartwarming. Sometimes I see him in other channels across youtube and my first reaction is "hey, my bro there!". Have you all a great weekend.
Lots of us have the same filling. After 3 years of great videos at his house, his yard, his dogs, sharing his stories & music and these amazing road trips, we are like a big family living his life, thru his Cámara, and making good friends from all over the world. Greetings from Mexico City.
I sent his birthday video into my watch later file a day or so ago (it's been a rough video catch up period). Are you saying that it doesn't mean that I'm a VIP that it popped up on my phone? (Actually, we do have a VIK here-- very important kitty. She reminds me every day).
In the 1970's I won 30 tickets from a local radio station to see Joe Walsh on Long Island . I filled every seat ! However , we lost a couple of people on the return . I think they " were really into it " and couldn't find the bus back ! 😄 Nice venue . Good Luck .
Another perfect day for an outdoor concert. It’s raining, cold and windy here in South Australia so for the brief time that I watch today’s videos I can pretend to feel the warmth of the sun. Have a good one.
Hi Lee! Thanks for keeping the video rolling!! Another venue and another beautiful day topped off by our good friend Brad! The coolest cat ever (next to you Lee 😊)!!
Fabulous show last night! You looked like you were having a lot of fun. A beautiful evening, thank Lyle for bringing the Large Band to Ojai and Ventura County. 🎶🎥
Tonights venue looks like an old fashioned park with a usable sound stage that were in many small cites post World War ll, and before the larger ‘War Memorials’ were built along with upscale movie theaters. Brad radiates teaching music without a word needed. Thank you for the visit.
I saw my neighbor Jon Anderson there about two years ago, it was stifling hot and absolutely no air movement. But the venue is great, very intimate, it’s a great setting placed in the middle of town amongst a public park and a residential community. Thanks for the great videos as always.
Used to go to the Ojai Music Festival every year in the late 60s/early 70s. Terrific concerts by musicians from the LA Phil. Sleeping in my old Buick. Couldn't manage now. Used to sit on the grass for all those concerts. Enjoy your time there!
Like everything else in life there is no free lunch. We all suffered through those tough times during the pandemic and out of it came this beautiful thing Lee brought to us ( and continues to )Thank you sir, I almost bit the dust during those early Covid times and you conveyed a sense of awareness and heartfelt sensitivity at what was going on but but at the same time allowed us to escape. Forever indebted. Cheers from ole NY ❤
Lovely! It's about the same size as the Ford, my favorite outdoor venue in LA (not including Brennan's, Home of Thursday Night Turtle Racing, in Venice 😂) We thought about coming, but Ojai is a road trip - and lodging is pricey there. I hope the audience has at least half the fun we had last evening. Of course the music was excellent, and Lyle is so funny! The interactions with the rest of y'all reflected that. Even the pauses were making me laugh! It's clear that, like the solos Jim and Brad do, what happens changes with each performance. That creates a special connection with your audience. We couldn't come up with an appropriate genre for what Lyle does. Country? Americana? Rock? I conclude that Lyle is a genre of his own.
'Americana' is what I would call lyle's music, glad to hear you and your party had a good time last night. Lyle pater of language is reminiscent of the older talking singers Like Ramblin' Jack Elliott and others. 👍
I love this little venue, I used to live in Ojai, right next door to the park, a stone's throw from where you're filming this. I was assistant sound engineer for 9 years at the yearly classical festival which goes for 3 days right there in Libbey Bowl. They've upgraded the stage and seating area considerably since those days which is nice to see. The locals are really appreciative of good music and you'll find them to be a great audience. Ojai is a pretty magical little town, I hope you get to experience some of that. Enjoy!
Great concert last night. So glad my sister and I got to say hello to you before the show. Also said hi to Brad in the lobby (You guys must wait until the last minute before you put your suits on) and saw Steve Postel in the audience.
What an eventful day you have had! Taking us along! 😊 Brad 🎷😎 Lovely venue. I believe Lee your sharing with us makes us feel. Like we are with you. 💜👩💜☺
The original Bowl was built in Edward Drummond Libbey's Civic Center Park in phases from 1952 to 1957 by a community effort led by the Ojai Music Festival. The shell was designed by architects Austen Pierpont of Ojai and Roy C. Wilson of Santa Paula. Originally known as "Civic Center Bowl,” and "Festival Bowl," among other names, it became known as "Libbey Bowl” in the 1980s after Civic Center Park was given to the City of Ojai and renamed Libbey Park. Inaugurated by Aaron Copland at the 1957 Ojai Music Festival, Libbey Bowl has hosted several of the world's most influential artists. In addition to serving as the home of the internationally acclaimed Ojai Music Festival, Libbey Bowl has housed important community and cultural events including the Storytelling Festival, Illusions Theater, Fourth of July Celebration, Memorial Day Celebration, Mexican Fiesta, and many others. By 2008, Libbey Bowl had suffered from over 50 years of wood rot, termite damage and heavy use. These damages proved irreparable and the Bowl was in danger of being condemned. In the fall of 2008, the City of Ojai and the Ojai Music Festival began working together to build a new Libbey Bowl, Ojai architect David Bury was hired to create a design that evoked the aesthetics, intimacy, and harmony with nature that characterized the original Bowl, as well as to make critical design improvements backstage and for audiences. The Ojai Music Festival, with support from the Ojai Valley Service Foundation, raised over $3 million from its patrons, the Ojai community and donors beyond, to partner with the City of Ojai in building the new Libbey Bowl. On June 4, 2011 Dawn Upshaw, eighth blackbird, Claudio Ragazzi, Octavio Brunetti, and Michael Ward-Bergeman inaugurated the new Libbey Bowl, joined by over 100 of Ojai's own musicians on June 5, 2011 for a free community Day of Music, produced by the Ojai Music Festival. ~THE HISTORICAL MARKER DATABASE
Oh man! I’ve enjoyed Bowlful of Blues at the Libbey Bowl in years past. I sure hope that gathering come back - I don’t see it in the calendar, but Judy Collins and Dionne Warwick sound like pretty sweet options coming up!
Hello from Cape Cod, Lee! ⛵️⚓️ What a lovely outdoor venue this place is, and it's your first time playing at this one. How cool! Hope you guys had a great show. Hey Brad! 👋 🎶🎷😃
@@randyschiffer3265 Having confirmed that it is a computer, I am going to continue with my initial hypothesis. His new phone may interface well (if that term is still in use) with other Apple products and, perhaps, computers. But it is actually noticeably harder to hear and sometimes has fuzzy video (in motion) and scary coloring in front of the computer when he plays music IF you are watching on a lower end phone as we do. That's life in the high tech update world though.
