      @@jillpemberton1434 it’s been hectic at my end, haven’t had much time to dedicate to editing all the footage! Too much to do with getting my house ready to,put on the market. Since, my boys have both bought their own places and moving out at end of July and beginning of August. Lots of declutterring & packing all at the same time. Mix of emotions with all that’s going on. Would definitely make great content tho. Nice to see you and your husband enjoying life 💕👍. Can’t wait until it’s our turn…. It’s coming fast and all very overwhelming. Will get through it. Take care of yourselves. Cheers, Tamy 💕🇨🇦

    I came across your channel and love the content. I am Canadian and am looking to move into the retired traveling life. I saw some of your videos talking about being able to live on what it costs you to live in Canada. Can you do a video on what you spend monthly and a breakdown of costs? It would be helpful to compare apples to apples on what to plan for if I chose to travel a similar style as you 2 do. Thanks, and I look forward to the video.

      Hi there,
      Thanks for watching our video and taking the time to connect with us.
      It's been hard to show a month to month because each month is so, so different. For example in Malaysia, Philippines etc food, rentals are so cheap and then another we do a luxury live aboard dive board. Also we were fast traveling and slow travel will reduce cost. We are now doing slow travel.
      We are heading to Europe in July and we can't wait to share how and where we are staying - because it's a real game changer to travel.
      Here is the Goodbye Canada series that perhaps gives a more in depth look. Also our new video that came out yesterday will show you our lifestyle. We spend $5200.00 as a couple/ or $2600. pp/ on average per month. Last time I checked, rentals in Toronto and Vancouver is $2600. per month!
      So here is the rest of the Goodbye Canada series and our latest.

    Great information guys. I like Randy's mindset that everything is negotiable. As "polite" Canadians, we're often taught to accept what we're offered and be thankful for it! I'm calling my bank today to negotiate the ATM fees! Also I think your videos are getting better. In fact, I was thinking it about 10 seconds before you brought it up in the video :D So, just letting you know that yep, I agree! Specifically, for me, I found the sound leveling in this video was better (everything at a consistent volume) vs some previous videos. And, I just love the practical tips you both offer!

    • @jillpemberton1434
      @jillpemberton1434  3 месяца назад +1

      Thank you so much for the lovely compliments. As far as ATM fees go. I negotiated no service fees period. I have to maintain a small monthly balance. If my account falls below this they will charge a fee for the month. We had this at Bank Of Montreal as well as Scotia Bank. And thank you so much for watching our videos and taking the time to respond.

    Yeah there is lots of people bothering you, especially in the Pyramids. They try to offer camels, horses taking your picture etc- but everything is about money.
    Just say no to everything and be aware. Also the word “Halas” means enough/ stop it … most important word to know😂 It was funny men would stop and looked shocked when I would say that.
    Cairo is fascinating and difficult at the same time. I would stay in a brand hotel - 2 -3 days is enough in Cairo. We just did the pyramids a few key mosques and then we headed Siwa.

    Do you use wise ever for currency conversion and payment in loval currency?

    • @jillpemberton1434

      Yes we have used Wise in the past. We actually prefer XE. Last time we checked they were offering a little better rate for Forex. But we will use either one depending on whoever is the cheapest. Thanks so much for watching our videos and taking the time to respond.

    Thanks for the great videos guys.I really enjoy them. I was wondering if you have considered doing one on filing income tax as a non resident canadian; or is that subject too specific for your audience. Just curious as to how you deal with that as it is quite confusing for me. Thanks.

    • @jillpemberton1434
      @jillpemberton1434  3 месяца назад +1

      Don’t feel bad. It is confusing for everyone. I think they make it that way intentionally, to keep people at home paying taxes. Actually we are speaking with our accountant in early July and should have a video out on that subject shortly there after. Thanks for watching our videos and taking the time to respond.

    How did you negotiate a no ATM fee?
    Didn't think that was possible in Canada.

    • @jillpemberton1434
      @jillpemberton1434  3 месяца назад

      Yes it is possible. Bank service fees are my pet peeve. We negotiate an account with zero service charges of any type. We maintain a small minimum balance to achieve this. If our balance drops below, then they charge a monthly fee. Thanks so much for watching our video and taking the time to respond.

      Hi there. Apologies for taking so long to get back. We were back in Canada meeting with our accountants and portfolio manager. We are now just posting a new video on tax implications. And in four or five days should have a video out on our investment strategies. Make sure to stay tuned. It should answer all your questions.

    I've heard there are so many scammers in Egypt. Did you have any issues with this.

    • @jillpemberton1434
      @jillpemberton1434  2 месяца назад

      Well there are a lot of scammers particularly around the pyramids.
      Here are my suggestions;
      1) stay at name brand hotel that you know.
      2) Maximum 3 days in Cairo ; go see the pyramids and some of the mosques in Cairo. They are truly spectacular.
      3) Go to the pyramids as soon as they open in the morning. We were there at 730am. It’s peaceful at this time. The tourist bus loads start arriving 9-930.
      4) just say No to anything anyone offers you. The key word is “Halas” which means enough! Very powerful.
      Hope this was helpful!
      Cheers,
      Jill
