Hey my name is Carl, or Dozer the farmer.
Thanks for watching or coming to my content just message me on RUclips and I’ll try my best to answer. I am here to show you the day to day running of a Kiwi (New Zealand) farm.
We milk 260 cows at peak and run 2 beef blocks that support the farm with silage and letting the young calves graze up at the run offs both owned by dad. Grandad runs one and Dad live on the other.
I started RUclips on the 4th of April with the idea to show everyone what life and day to day running of a farm in NZ is like with the hope that people get a better understanding of where milk comes from and one of the families that love doing it.

Carl , sorry to hear that you had to put a cow down . Calves our cute.
Carl people don’t know how we do things on the farm and good and bad days when we put cow’s or calves down life goes on the farm.We just go on and replace the cow or cow’s with new cow’s.
Makenzie and Dallas there something else growing up and love to work on the farm.Their going to be good helpers .

Yes it’s an unfortunate thing that happens. But I have noticed it has desensitised me a little bit. When I first come onto the farm I used to cry when cows and calves were put down now I know it’s better than letting them suffer.
There so cool and cute.
I know my brother can’t wait to come onto the farm and take over to get the kids as helpers.
Possiblility next year.
As I may be looking at heading off. Maybe overseas to work. See what happens mate.
Don’t worry though. My brother and his wife will be taking over the channel to continue forward.

carl why do you start calfing way before the factory opens for the new season
Factory is open all season
At least the milk producing fatories doesn't close I think it also includes the milk processing plant they don't close even on the public holidays Dairy farms still operate even on the public holidays they're still milking it doesn't stop an example of public holidays is Auckland Anniversary day Waitangi day Easter Easter Sunday Easter Monday Kings Birthday Matariki day on those days Businesses may close but not dairy farms as the Cows udder needs to be milked out even if it's a public holiday Farm hands will work as they'll get paid by the Boss of the dairy farm.
Hey mate.
Majority of milk companies in NZ don’t close as we have farmers who milk all year round. So they just shut down less needed facilities and carry the milk to the open factories.
About this time of year the factories are getting started again for peak in August when the milk is fully flowing.
