How ironic this video came up , just this morning I had to put down a gelding I raised with a broken leg , happened in the pasture not even sure how it happened😭 But I've been watching The along time, TV and in person. Saw Paige interview Ty on RFD tv , think they were meant for each other.❤️
I haven't been a fan of rodeo as I think or did think that it was a cruel sport. I might well have been very wrong. This man plays heartfelt comments on every one of these horses that he pastured after they retired. It is good to hear the kind comments, one feels the warmth for the animals in his voice.
Thank you Linda for your heartfelt comments. The welfare of the animals has always been of genuine concern, and top priority to all of the Rodeo professionals ( and at all levels) in my experience and humble opinion. Warm Regards to you Ma'am, Shawn
I salute for this. Honorable treatment. Retired with dignity. Knew Rusty for years. We were getting on him at high plains Jr rodeos. He could have went pro long before he did. Thank you
Thank you Ty, for honoring these wonderful animals! I also provide a retirement home of older horses no longer being used. None of my guests are former bucking horses, but any horse of any discipline is deserving of a good retirement and a final resting place. Not to be cast aside and forgotten.
Absolutely brought tears to my eyes...thank you Ty ...for giving these great athletes and friends..the great respect they deserve ....without them there wouldn't be any cowboys....very heart felt of you...my hats off to ya!!!
Great thing you are doing there Mr Murray.... They deserve their tribute and their good final years.... You are to be Commended by both us and from above... Thank you, Sir....
Good for you Ty. These great retired bucking horses needed a good home and you provided it for them my hats off to you for having a big heart to take care of them and giving them a place to be retired to.a true cowboy and a man's man. Keep it up there is a special place in heaven for cowboys and you lead the way !!
Wonderful job Ty. We always talk about retired Cowboys being legends of the sport but without the stock there would be no rodeo. Thanks for giving them what they what they earned.
This is an awesome video I have mad respect for you guy's. I love to watch horses grazing in a pasture and running and playing with one another. Because I sure can't ride ...
Damn I remember that wreck Ty had at the 1990 NFR like it was yesterday. It occurred during the 9th round of the Saddle Bronc event & he was getting on Bo Skoal owned ( or leased who knows) by the Mesquite Rodeo company. Neal Gay was standing behind the chutes getting ready to flank Bo when he reared up, the chute was opened but I don’t recall as to whether Ty had called for him or not which resulted in Bo flipping over backwards on him and mashing his knee. He had just won the 9th go in the Bareback event too. That wreck along with Tuff Hedeman’s crazy hang up aboard Copenhagen Stinger in the Bull Riding were the craziest wrecks at the NFR that year. Ironic that Ty would end up burying the twin on his ranch.
@JeanFish. No Neal is Dons’ dad who owns and produces Mesquite Championship Rodeo that I believe is still going. One used to be able to watch it on the now defunct TNN channel. He does have 2 brothers, older I think named Pete & Jim.
First ballot HOM in the biggest areas and he didn't have to even entertain the thought. Wave the markout rule and clear the alley. I'm no copenhagen angel and the great Bobbi Joe Skoal GBU Ty
@jeffrey schirm, in the chutes you have a gateman, the rider's assistant, and the riggin man. When the cowboy yells outside to the gateman, the riggin man yanks that riggin strap as hard and tight as possible. Gate swings open, better hold on and start marking that bronco! Yeehaw!
Could have made some dog food with them but what-evs, I guess if it tickles your pickle we can only make dog food out of the horses that know body likes.
Wonderful to see the compassion for these great athletes. Old horses and old dogs all deserve a safe retirement.hats off to you Ty.

Ty
Without the horse, man’s history would be rewritten.
Monuments should be erected to this selfless, noble animal.
Good man Ty .....
People that think rodeo stock are treated badly or abused NEED TO SEE THIS .
THANKS PUD .
It's wonderful to see the animals get proper respect and consideration. I wish they all received it, whether they were great or not.
Pretty sure they all do
I think it is awesome that Ty lets horses retire on his Ranch!
Hats off to you for loving horses so much !!!

Wow. Most of these horses lived over thirty years! So wonderful they had such a great retirement.
Thank you Ty. How cool is that to let these outstanding Buckin horses spend the rest of there lives in Stephansville on Ty Murray's Ranch.
I salute for this. Honorable treatment. Retired with dignity. Knew Rusty for years. We were getting on him at high plains Jr rodeos. He could have went pro long before he did. Thank you
That's mighty fine of you all to take care of them old bucking horses like that.

God bless you Ty, for appreciating the spirit of the horse. My name is Lisa. I was high school classmate of Leanne Lambert. Nothing but respect.

A great way to let some wonderful athletes live out their golden years. Good on ya Ty!
Not looking forward to the day we bury one of ours. I know my heart will go in the ground too. What a incredible tribute.
A great place for a horse to retire. I own a place on the Bosque River south of there and it's a slice of heaven.
Awesome don’t get any better than that for old horses
Hell of a man right there!!!
Great thing you are doing there Mr Murray.... They deserve their tribute and their good final years.... You are to be Commended by both us and from above... Thank you, Sir....

You have a beautiful heart. They will be waiting for you, in a gentle way, at the Rainbow Bridge. God Bless you! You are a Horse Saint!

Stupid question...is Neil Donny Gay' s son? I had a crush on Donny Gay at age 15...met him at the Calgary Stampede...he was SO KIND!!!:)
@JeanFish. No Neal is Dons’ dad who owns and produces Mesquite Championship Rodeo that I believe is still going. One used to be able to watch it on the now defunct TNN channel. He does have 2 brothers, older I think named Pete & Jim.
Rusty was originally owned by Halliday Rodeo Co. and bucked as a bareback horse.
Aww loved awesome ! thank you blessings to you
Way Ta Go Ty!! Great job , taken care of your old partners. Billy in Canada
very cool
Ty Murray-your a good man.
Thank you, Ty ~
Awesome
VERY INTERESTING
What a great thing to do!
I respect ty
Do you remember JOHN BREARLEY from Australia?? Our top bareback rider in the 1970's and 1980's?? He led the Australian team to your bi centennial.

Just improved my opinion of Ty
Does how tight the bucking strap is make them buck better, if not why not. Who controls how tight they are?
@jeffrey schirm, in the chutes you have a gateman, the rider's assistant, and the riggin man. When the cowboy yells outside to the gateman, the riggin man yanks that riggin strap as hard and tight as possible. Gate swings open, better hold on and start marking that bronco! Yeehaw!
It's only tight to the point where it's going to stay on, not to the point of being too tight to limit the horse's mobility
Not long lived horses compared to some
Compared to wild horses who only average 19 years, they have long lives. Everything over 18 is a blessing.
Could have made some dog food with them but what-evs, I guess if it tickles your pickle we can only make dog food out of the horses that know body likes.
