- Kyzer is making a number of tops to try to sell at a local night market. Aluminium, turned. grooved and parted. Part gets a bit hot due to lack of coolant but he survived with no damage!
The parting nib will be removed in a second operation.
Lesson #1 when things get machined they get hot. Bravo Kyzer, well done... Martin
Thank you Martin, I will remember. Kyzer
Practice makes perfect, well done Kyzer. 👍
Thank You. Kyzer
Kyzer taking over grandpa's business soon! :D
I don't think so yet Thank you for the comment. Kyzer
Well done.
Thank you Robert. Kyzer
Good job.
Get him to make one on a manual lathe and you watch his new found enthusiasm for the CNC!
Hope his fingers are ok.
Thank You, his fingers are fine, 5 minutes later it was forgotten . Nigel
Awesome :) well done Kyzer, did you model it up as well? What size material are you using? I have quite a few barfeeder remnants I could send to help on your journey ;)
Thank you but no, Pop drew it up and wrote the program, while I watched. Material is 25.4 and thank you but Pop has lots of material.
Congratulations Kyzer. I spent many happy hours with my father in the garage. Eye glasses and protect the ears.
Thanks Larry, I forget about eye safety cos mine are always on and the lathe has a canopy. Will get him a pair today. Nigel
What's a Kyzer? Grandson or the neighbours kid? And of Scottish heritage perhaps.
Hi Peter, yep he is our grandson.

And he learned that things get hot. Did he learn why?
We discussed machining creating heat and the effect of coolant. The coolant effect he could readily see once the amount of coolant was right as there was no heat in the part at all.
