I Plan to do Part 4 on phantom Manner, but I might be able to do a expedition to Disneyland Paris this summer and I do not want the new refurbished elements spoiled before I get the chance to ride it. Because of this Part 4 probably wont be out until July. I know most of you will understand.

That will be interesting, considering the track layout is identical to Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion.

Never knew the Tokyo Mansion was missing the iconic graveyard! That's a shame but I guess it makes sense since the epitaphs were in english

im excited for the phantom manor video. I know Mystic Manor is only related to the others in spirit and a couple nods to the mansion. But that would be intersting to compare.

I hope this helps! Tokyo Disneyland's Haunted Mansion is a physical time machine. It is basically the opening day version of Magic Kingdom's Haunted Mansion. That is why there are the two very large spiders and no transition into the bat eyes for the wallpaper. This is because the wallpaper when entering the endless hallway scene, is basically the same as Disneyland's version. (I am also assuming that Magic Kingdom's version opened with that wallpaper as well.) The ghostly figure you see in the seance room was both in Disneyland's and WDW's Haunted Mansion on opening day. In 2001, due to the Holiday overlay on Disneyland's mansion, that prop went completely missing. I'm not exactly sure what happened to the prop in Magic Kingdom but today, it is replaced with a spirit projection. I am guessing Disney removed it for the 2006 update? The bats in the attic were an opening day illusion for Disneyland's version. They were soon removed with the string effect (to simulate cobwebs touching you) as people would pull them down. When you pass the singing busts in the graveyard, you will be able to hear a very clear "La la la". That is a long lost audio that the American parks don't have anymore. Both Magic Kingdom's and Disneyland's Haunted Mansion opened with it. No one really knows what happened to the audio. It is known as the "La-da singer" or the "La-la singer". If you have any questions, please ask them!

That's some awesome background knowledge. I need to look out for that la la la sounds. Wish I noticed that when doing the video

Tokyo’s HM looks like what WDW’s HM looked like before it when through a massive refurb. The Portraits in WDWs load area used to be in the Hallway where Tokyo’s are. Also the black void with the spider webs in Tokyo’s is what WDWs same area used to look like.

  • @JustinTheClaw

I’m surprised you don’t mention the fact that most of these differences are the result of Tokyo not receiving the same updates that Disney World got in 2007 and beyond. Aside from different props being used, the Tokyo version is practically a duplicate of what the ride in Disney World was like from ’71 to ’06.

    • @ParallelDiscover
      @ParallelDiscover  3 года назад

I didn't because I was more concerned with current differences. Maybe I should add some history in the future if it applies.

5:10 My theory is that the old sounds affect in the stretching room at Disneyland & Tokyo represents the skeleton falling from the top of the stretching room on the floor were the guests are. And in Florida, I think it’s suppose to be the windows near the skeleton crashing
Edit: Also, I think the screaming is from the skeleton falling from the attic of the stretching room

  • @George_vv

I believe the ghost in the seance room and the similar one in the crypt are separate ghosts. Disneyland used to have both at the same time and originally they worked similar to the fire on pirates. For some reason, most often the effects are turned off.

The WDW and Tokyo mansions used to be almost exactly the same. WDW used to have the Portrait Corridor where the portraits' eyes followed you and its Corridor of Doors used to be lit in a deep shade of red caused by red glass globes on the chandeliers. Absent were the "family ghoul portraits." WDW also had the larger Tomb Sweet Tomb sign and the hands prying the last door open. In 2007, the Portrait Corridor was changed to have the transforming portraits. The red lights and hands were removed from the Corridor of Doors and the family ghoul portraits were put in there...I think this was a pointless attempt by the 2007 imagineers to make WDW's mansion more like Disneyland (California), which never had the hands or red lights and has always had a transforming portrait corridor...as well as the family ghoul portraits decorating the Corridor of Doors. Another reason why the hands were removed was because an executive in WDI decreed that "no ghosts be seen before Madame Leota." In my opinion, the 2007 crew undid the carefully crafted intentions of Marc Davis, Claude Coats, and the original imagineers. The red lights made the Corridor feel more dangerous and claustrophobic, and I suppose the family ghoul portraits were originally left out because of how they distract you from the doors. Fortunately, Tokyo's mansion still maintains what WDW used to have.

It is silly making them more similar. They should try to give atractions unique flares, not remove them

    • @jimbodeek

I think that Disney should have kept the moving-eyes effect for the portraits in the loading area. It would have given guests something interesting to look at while waiting there.

The portrait in the WDW foyer faced left from opening day until the 2007 refurb, then it swapped direction and looked the same as Tokyo after going digital. However, it changed back to it's original left about 2 years ago (the merchandise continued to show it facing left), so a shame you missed out on a subtle difference when this video was made.... I also prefer how Tokyo leave plenty of time to see the foyer scene unlike WDW's which begins 30 seconds after the previous stretch room has closed.

@@ParallelDiscover Okay, in the graveyard there's the hearse scene with ghosts drinking tea next to the picnic couple, right? Well, the ghost in the coffin is humming the tune of "Grim Grinning Ghosts", leading the monotome singers. This character is Tokyo's only, i mean, you can still see character in Disneyland and Magic Kingdom, but they got rid of the voice track, you can only hear it at Tokyo's disney Haunted Mansion.
