Thank you you teaching. I am a beginner but F barr chord came pretty easy for me. What bothers me are most of the Bs except for B minor. Will look forward for your next tutorials. 🙏

Great there a video on F chord, with similar way to play it!
I’ve discovered the way you show it myself actually, because I was learning one of my own songs)
It’s kinda like C but still sounds like F )

Such a great discovery! I had a similar experience around the time I started teaching.

Thanks for another superb video Rob. Depends on which guitar I play as to how difficult I find playing the mini-barr F chord. It's very easy to play on my new Maton ER90c. The last two songs I wrote had the Fmaj7 and so will certainly try it with the A in the base. Also the Fmaj7 goes well with the G6. Haven't heard of adding the G on the high E to a C chord but it sounds fantastic so will play it that way now.

What are your thoughts on and also would it even work in certain situations if you play what I always thought was an Fadd9… I play a four finger G, then leaving my ring and pinky on the B and high E just move my index and middle down one for a Cadd9, then move the ring and middle down one more.

Sorry I meant move the index and middle down one more from the Cadd9.So you’re using the exact same shape for the GC & F

I knew exactly what you were talking about, John. Yes! Another great option. Mostly just useful if you are using a four finger G already. But if you are, it’s a great, easy chord. The one popular song that comes to mind that uses this is “I trip through your wires” by U2.

@@HeartwoodGuitarInstruction Does it have a name? I always in my mind thought it was Fadd9 because it’s the same fingering as Cadd9

Also didn’t know that U2 song and just looked it up and it sounds pretty great! Thanks for the tip!!

Almost! Technically a F6add9 chord, since we’ve got a 6th there now on the 2nd string. The 9th has now migrated up to the 1st string (it’s on the 2nd string in the Cadd9).
