I am currently a sophomore in high school, I have been interested in being a Lineman for a few years now. I have an interest in electricity and power and like hands on jobs! I have to work especially hard in school, especially in the field of mathematics. I am aware that electricity needs formulas and whatnot to figure out amperage, voltage, resistance, etc. But someone please let me know if this isn’t for someone who struggles with multi step advanced math and whatnot.

I was wondering if you couls become a lineman with a DUI? My guess is that you cannot become because whatever company you work for requires you to use some type of vehicle, and with a DUI in your record probably they dont want to hire you. My DUI is 4 years old, but by the time I would get my license to work as a lineman, it would have been 5 years.

    QUESTION:
So I need clarification. I know 2 individuals who I won't name who are lineman for a specific company.
One claims to have made ~225k/year, and the other who started at the bottom 4 years ago and worked his way up claims to have made ~175k this last year 2022.
Everything I'm reading online is saying the BEST lineman make only 75-100k/year at best.
Can someone in the know clarify for me how they are doing this?
