Sounds nice! Good job. So many good synths out now. :)

Thank you! After I've been using the trigon for some deeper music production I can say this is a nice "must have" for EDM and electronic music overall. I agree there are so many nice synths this decade. For me I think the take 5 and TEO-5 are very interesting even if they are some what "budget" analogue machines. If sequential will release a new revision of the prophet 12 I'll be very poor for a long time :) I can say that after having some VCO based machines the desire of hybrid with digital oscillators and analogue filters is alot welcome.

After a more serious use of this instrument I can confirm that it fits very good in mixes, interface is so clean which makes tweaking sounds a pure joy. The one knob per function philosophy is super handy for creativity!

Although the Dave Smith synth line up is purely analogish it tends to get distorty upon cutting it through that lp filter... I think nothing can beat the legendary access virus C, ti and ti2,
    Which has sadly discontinued...
If you are into trance music try some of these modern greats..
    Waldorf kyra
    Roland system 8
    Behringer deepmind 12
    UDO super gemini

Analogue synths are by their nature able to be driven in signal path. Transistor ladder filter charachter is a bit distorted compare to the prophet 5 filter. SEM-Filters are medium in distortion. I think in the video i was a bit to brave with the synths mixer and sequential are also pure tone as well.

Prophet 6 or Trigon if you could only have 1?

All depends on what sound I would go to most of the time. Let me describe them like this. Prophet 6 is very clean sounding and versatile in it's own way with the filter it has and possibility for HP-filter. Trigon 6 has the classical transistor-ladder filter sound but at same time behaves very interesting on resonance. The resonance has no bass compensation on T6 which P6 has but can be adjusted by turning the feeback/drive knob towards feedback slightly. However I prefeer EDM / Electronic music and today the Trigon 6 is my favourite there. The extra 3rd oscillator is nice to have on the T6 but you can do alot with the P6 also. So to answer your question I think I would pick the Trigon 6 but it's difficult choise to only pick one. What do you think?

@@infestedalien my musical style is more in the Lane 8 style, This Never Happened label. I have the Pro 3, Novation Peak, and Model D. I don’t use the Model D much because of it going out of pitch. I wonder what else I can pair up with what I have. Maybe a Hydrasynth or maybe another sequential. I love the sound of the OB-6 but Behringer came out with the ob xa maybe I’ll get the desktop version of it when they release it.

@lee1982 Listening to that song I can nothing but think of Prophet 6 or Groove Synthesis 3rd wave (check that out, some of the dudes of sequential are behind it). 3rd wave will offer you some awesome imageing artifact to the sound, the prophet 6 will be a sharp clean analogue machine with rock solid tuning that wont let you down :). Trigon 6 is a better direction if you want a "memory moog" that is super solid tuning and can be slopped out with vintage knob if you desire. Check out the 3rd wave and tell me what you think please :) Please notice that 3rd wave uses the exact same filter circuit as a prophet 5 rev 4 uses. It also has resonance compensation that can be enabled / disabled. Please note that the state variable filter is digital tho, but for good reason! Prophet 6 doesn't have the same circuit of prophet 5 filter, but it's inspired from the prophet 5 filter. Hope this helps you a bit :)

@@infestedalien 3rd Wave sounds amazing. I was listening to Miles Away on RUclips and man I was drooling over it but then I saw the price. I bought the Fehreplay course from Audiotent and he uses the P6 and subsequent 37. But, the 3rd Wave sounds so good! Maybe I should just save up and get it.

@lee1982The 3rd wave is unfortuantly and fortunantly built with maximum capacity of voices which makes the price... There is a module avaliable for much lower price and to be honest it's truely well organized in the sacrifice of buttons / knobs they had to strip down from keyboard version. It's tho important to know 2 things before buying one. First is that it's not always as normal feel to program as any other synth out there but thats not a bad thing more that I think it's a run-in-time to get used to it. The second thing is that the multitimbral part is a bit wierd but very good organized. You do not for example activate part 2 of 4 and just scroll what preset you want. Instead you have to either program the part or use the function copy from path x and part x into current part or part y of current part. The good thing with this is that it's not working with pointers to other patches which can easily be a nightmare when editing the patches and all dependencies get altered. Instead all parts in the patch you play are copy from whatever you copyed from or edited in that patch parts :).
Man it's so hard to say what synth other may like or not. For me it has changed alot over the time. In the beginning I didn't like my prophet 6 that mutch and liked the ob6 more. Now it's the oposite after some user-experience with them. One advice I can give is to hold hard to your PRO 3 :) It's such a amazing mono-synth.

Its a versatile machine thanks to 3rd osc and 2 / 4 pole filter :)
