NICE UNIQUE INVERTER WITH THE BIG SCREEN SHOWING ALL INVERTER POWER STATS . MAYBE HOLDING THE POWER BUTTON IS PRE CHARGING THE CAPS BEFORE TURNING AND POWERING ON . EXCELLENT !

We have the 2000-watt version for use in our van conversion. We choose Leesky because Renogy is just too high and has a lot of issues and the Leesky was on sale for a mere $230. One thing we did is replace the cables with 2 gauge cables. Have not had a single issue. Charges our laptop, and phones, and runs our 1500-watt induction cooktop, all with ease. We use a 200 Ah LifePO4.

I've been using this one in a lot of my videos, even cooked chili on the induction. Such a beast. You're right about upgrading the cables. But that's a common upgrade with pretty much all inverters I've tested. Glad it's been working for you!

It dissipates heat faster because it has more mosfets and its a bigger heat sink

Hi Brad - I can’t find it now but thought I read a comment by you saying your AC was tripping the GFI and you replaced it with a standard outlet. Is that right? What AC if so? Thanks.

    • @BradCagle
      @BradCagle  11 месяцев назад

Yes, that is correct. My midea u shaped 12000 btu A/C would trip the GFCI in the Leesky inverter. So yes, I did replace the GFCI with a standard dual gang receptacle. Thanks

HAY BRAD, THANKS FOR YOUR INFORMATIONAL VIDEOS. I AM WANTING TO GO SOLAR. HAVE TO STAT OUT A LITTLE AT A TIME. I WANT TO START WITH A NEW MEDIA WINDOW AC I JUST BOUGHT.ITS 8000 BTU, I BELIEVE 1200 WATT. SO I AM WONDERING IF THE 1500 WATT LEESKY INVERTER YOU SHOWED. WOULD THAT BE OK TO RUN THE AC??? ALSO, CURIOUS, ARE YOU ANY KIN TO CAGLE FAMILY ORIGINATING FROM N.C? MY FATHER WAS BORN IN N.C. AND HIS MOTHER. HE HAD A COUPLE BROTHERS AND 1 SISTER. MY DADS NAME WAS ROOSEVELT CAGLE. GRANDMA JULIE. JUST CURIOUS. THE CAGLE NAME IS NOT A POPULAR NAME. WELL THANKS AGAIN.

If it's the Midea 8000 btu Smart Inverter U-Shaped model, it will absolutely run it great. If it's the non-inverter model, It may, or may not. Non-inverter AC's have a very high start current, so it can overload the inverter, and shut it off when the compressor kicks on. As for kin, I'm not aware of family from North Carolina. When I was a child, a man, can't remember his name, but he was a Cagle, came to our house from FL seeking information about Cagle history. He spent several days with my father. Later he sent us a big Cagle book of all the info he collected, and compiled. I could probably get this book some day, and find your family in it. My father, and mother are from East Texas.

Hello, I just got my inverter, 2000W version, yesterday and found out that the GFCI outlets are wired wrong.
I also use the AC outlet tester and it shows Hot and Neutral are reversed.
The resistance test also shows that Hot is connected to the Ground of the outlet and also to the chassis Ground.
    The Voltage between
Hot and Ground = 0 VAC. It should be 120 VAC.
Hot and the chassis ground = 0 VAC. It should be 120 VAC.
Neutral and Ground = 120 VAC. It should be 0 VAC.
Neutral and chassis ground = 120 VAC. It should be 0 VAC.
Can you please check and see if you get the same results as me? Thanks!

Alright. Finally got around to testing mine, and it is wired correctly, the tester shows this too. So they must have had a batch where someone got it mixed up. Now I did just run into a problem where my A/C would trip the GFCI. Come to find out this is common on large inductive loads, and you need a special slower responding GFCI. I just pulled the GFCI out, and installed a standard dual gang outlet. Thanks

@@BradCagle Thanks! They admitted that they had made a mistake at the factory and they said they will improve the QC, they refunded me the money after I took the unit apart and showed them the wiring on the GFCI, I made the correction and now it shows correct wiring.

@@budmartin3344 I just noticed your cats! We have a ton of them too. The lady that used to live next door was some kind of hoarder. She horded cats too, they kept reproducing so we would trap them, and have them spayed/neutered, then bring them back. For the last few years we have had no new ones, we just keep the existing ones feed now. No rodent problems :)
