Shaft still remains a powerful record; one of Hayes' pinnacle moments for sure.

I remember oh so very well. Im an original soul brother, in fact, i still have my original albums , cassettes, ebight track player.i even have four reel to reels.my studio has almost 1000 ventage 70s 12 inch discs. I am so fotunate and I make sure that my five grandsons know what real music is.

This gorgeous tune was recorded 53 years ago!!! Yet, it sounds as fresh, captivating, and beautiful right now as it did when it was first released. I'm convinced that if this was released today, it would top the charts. This is why I absolutely despise the term "old-school" music, because truly great music is TIMELESS!!!!
I wish that I could have rewind the hand of time and go back to the70,s when we had real music. I missed seeing Isaac Hayes at the St Lucia Jazz in 07 . He had a stroke and still performed. I had to return home because of a family emergency. What a great piece of music.

I loved that good music. It brings back memories of when I would go to the Howard Theater in DC, and the Apollo Theater in New York City and other places to see some of those surely missed stars of that era.
