I cannot see Dan smith having the "post-metal" edge that this has. It seems too grassroots to be contributed to a mainstream singer like that. It also seems to meaningful to. It could be but my chips are saying NO!

I'll never understand why the guitarist and bass player aren't playing during the first chorus, at least live. They spend 3/4 of the song just spinning around and shaking. I love ST, they're my favorite by a mile, but I feel they're underused. Hard to not be biased towards Vessel and Drumguy, as they are the most active members of the bunch.
I think given that most of this material was written by Vessel, the guitars and bass aren't as present as you might expect from other bands in this scene. His old material is written in a similar way with piano arrangements taking most of the spotlight. I reckon it might be more of a collaborative effort in their future material given how crazy talented all of the musicians are, but performing the current ST material is definitely about serving the song instead of overplaying.
@@tarkenton3895 Knowing of his old stuff I can clearly understand his writing process, and I know the two are paid musicians first and foremost. But I'd love to see them act more diversily, if not just act more at all. But you're right about current ST, they serve the songs rather than truly playing them. Why are the bass and guitarists not actually playing their instruments. Just actors. I like this band - whomever is on the recording - but thats not those two clowns
It's about serving the music. Better that the song is performed as intended than to have someone overplaying when it's not a section where their instrument is involved.

The greatest addiction anyone could have. To music and this band specifically.

Also, thanks Mat for uploading this

I'm simply in love with this band

So happy to be there before the blowup!
What a epic show
