I've noticed that the moments when the game shines come as follow: 1. When you have to take care of both immediate and long-term survival and sometimes balance between them. 2. When the problem isn't that much "Can I defeat this mob?" as it is "Is it worth to defeat this mob?". 3. When you have to change your survival strategies depending on time and location. 4. When every item and resource comes in handy and is worth making (sometimes there is a problem with that) at least in some point of a game. 5. When death doesn't come from a single bad decision but rather from a series of bad decisions and missed opportunities that will add up.

I still went a head and triggered it anyways because I wanted to see it.
Number 5 is both amazing and terrible. The realization you would of survived if you had just not deviated from a plan, or if you had not dropped a specific item. Looking back at the long list of mistakes you made, and knowing that if you had avoided just a single one you could've prevented death.

I've always really loved the art style, visual theme and animations in Don't Starve. It could really become something great. Heck..I think even if they kept the visual theme and used real actors for the characters it could be sold. It would look somewhat in the style of Sweeney todd or somewhere in that time period (early 1800's.)

I remember watching this trailer a few years back and thought it was so damn cool, and I still feel the same way now! The music and the animations are giving me goosebumps, it's so good! Just bought the Switch Edition and can't wait to meet these guys (and probably die)
All the wallpapers you could make from this trailer. The artstyle is still one of the best parts of the game. Dont know if I will buy the DLC though. I suck at this game even if I love it. Those Giants would kick my ass.
If the giants are too much of a problem for you, you can just custom your world so they won't ever appear. And even after buying the dlc, you can decide to play with it or to play the game just as it was before.
Camp within convenience distance of a swamp. Lure the giants in to get horribly murdered by tentacles. Step 3: profit! The key to winning at this game is to avoid direct confrontation as much as you can. Don't work harder, work smarter.
This expansion is what Don't Starve really needed. The base game was starting to get too easy, and without difficulty the game gets boring. The expansion makes the game very difficult at first, and still difficult once you've run through it a few times. Thanks Klei! I hope to see another expansion in the future!

I did an animated fan short with Wes meeting a deerclops.
