Oh man, I just got these in the mail today.... and now I am less excited to play with them! I was really hoping they would be more opaque. Another artist told me that they were better than their old "matte acrylics" but these look the same to me, just rebranded with the word "gouache" to get more sales perhaps. They cost so much more than other matte acrylics and they claim that they contain more pigment than any other liquitex paint :( Thank you for sharing.
Me either! I wanted some opaque paints that I can layer more easily, but this didn't fit to my purpose because they are not quite opaque T - T Almost all reviews I checked were good, so I was thinking I got disappointed because I didn't know how to handle it properly. Thanks for letting me know this is more similar to matte acrylics than gouache. I have no experience with acrylic paints and didn't know there are acrylic paints with matte finish. However I do hope you could have some fun with this paint :-)
The bottles that the acrylic gouache comes in are so frikeen adorable !! LOL. Other than that.. the blue just looks sooo subpar compared to the other colours like you said. In fact watching the yellow being painted on top of the black is like what you said.. disappointing :(
My friend and I were so disappointed when e tried these out because from their advertising, they looked so beautiful! But the blue was awful and the other colors were eh, that white is not opaque as it should be. We’re gonna stick with our Holbein acrylic gouache. It’s a much better product in our opinion, but we just wanted to test these paints out and sad to see the result

Haha...Actually that cute bottle design was a part of the reason I decided to buy it :D
