This is an incredible series. Hope to see more work with John. He is great and so knowledgable. I also appreciate he looks beyond the hype and obvious watches. Thanks for this!
OMG!!!! That collection is perfect, true Patek Philippe. Thank you for sharing. Elegant.. that's all you can describe this collect with... Elegant. I cannot afford a 1/4 of these watches but knowing something as special as some of these timepieces are made. That's good enough...
U should have make a wrist shot of every piece. It will make the video far more interesting. By the way, that 3940J first edition is rock.. looking forward to buy. Hopefully in the near future
Probably people with zero appreciation for PP - like me. Would wear none of these. Patek is no match for ALS or VC. Not anymore. Unless you are a rapper - then Patek is compulsory.
so bad on so many levels patek goes way before rapper's, if you love vacheron or lange, dosn't mean that you have to dislike anyone...especialy patek...Oo
Well, it is hard to ignore the fact that Patek is embarking on the same boat as Rolex with artifically reduced supply methods or the fact that their dealers treat people like garbage unless they are blinged up rappers, celebs or first-impression millionaires. And honestly, they have no choice, because if you put their perpetual calendar next to Langematic by ALS, you will see what I mean. For 50% price you are getting incomparably higher quality watch with more sophisticated complications and far more superior caliber. And what you get with Patek? So called "Heritage".
@@petrforst7358 I agreed that ALS is great, but it is all the matter of taste, you can see the person taste by his collection, my currently collection is aquanaut + nautilus-steel+royaloak-steel + submariner date+yacht master rubber band+daytona6263... and I will get lange for sure...where are you standing with yours pieces?
Any way you could re-record that minute repeater and offer in a spacial audio platform? Wouldn’t that be an amazing series? All of the best minute repeaters recorded and presented in spacial audio, yes, that would be amazing.
Wonderful video and great as always to see and hear Mr Reardon’s expertise. Incidentally that is not a reference 12-600 that is the caliber. The reference is the 2526.
The golden ellipse is indeed not popular at all, but in my eyes it's the most fun, original and best looking dresswatch out there. For me the old calatrava's are too boring and they are "an old man's watch", the golden ellipse is fresh and original.
OK, so he had a 1485 in steel. I think I had guessed a gold 1483. It's the kind of elegant vintage sports watch I'd imagine him owning. Also guessed an Elipse. I've read interviews with John talking about his love for this watch. It's worth mentioning that the value of many of the the venerable manufacture watches has increased dramatically in the last 15-20 years. Even Newman Daytonas were relatively affordable back in the late 90s. Not cheap but not anything like today's money.
I bought the watch from a guy in Texas, George Bush perhaps? Sadam's watch. That is a piece of Iraqi history. In my humble view, it should be in a museum in Iraq.
Let's address the elephant in the room here: Placing the minute repeater pocket watch at the edge of the table. That's an accident waiting to happen, and we all know the lack of shock protection on any watch made before the 1940s. Put it on the middle of the table, in safe and plain sight!
Never was a fan on PP they look like a standard 50 dollar timex the only one that really pops is the nautilus and thats ridiculously overpriced!!!! Just my opinion!!!!!
I like most Pateks, but this Elipse just isn't aesthetically correct. Not square enough, not round enough and the dial is not ugly but not beautiful either it is clearly a dud compared to most Pateks and it must be a tough one to sell. I'm pretty sure retailers bought it to get the best models from Patek as well.

Thomas was so amazed by everything John showed & explained. You can see the passion in both eyes.
Absolutely!! What about you? 😀
He’s pure joy and enthusiasm is infectious!
This is my favorite video you have ever posted. More John please!

So under evaluated....lovely video
Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
the first square one & the ones with small seconds are so cool

You are absolutely correct! It is a caliber 12-600 within a ref. 2526. The video is labelled incorrectly.
Thanks for watching guys!!!
10:57 on the repeater was fun to count out!
Cool informative
Glad you liked it :)
Please make more of this videos
More to come!
Love how pocket watches are vintage to the point of enigmatic.
Incredibly nice way to call it a bargain ✨
This is an insane collection. I can afford…. to watch it only lol
Beautiful collection of non hype patek models.
Indeed!
Perfekt 👌 ist die beste
Danke!
Holy Moly!
😎
Love that pocket watch. Which case is that?

You forgot the Gondolo
anyone know the ref number of the 4th watch in that first/top most row?
It is an automatic ref. 3466 in steel from the late 1960s.
6:45 The reference is 2526, the caliber is 12600
My dream bag 💼
😎😀
I think ref 12600 is the movement, the watch is a first series ref. 2526
🙌🏻
Looks like he’s missing a manual winding chrono (5070, 5170, etc.) from his collection
Will let him know... ;)
I bought the watch from a guy in Texas, George Bush perhaps?
Sadam's watch. That is a piece of Iraqi history. In my humble view, it should be in a museum in Iraq.
Almost sad to see him part with such treasures
What is ref. 12600?😅😅
700k I thought it was just like 3 pateks
😂

interview Auro Montanari (Also know mas goldberger), one of the best watch collectors. I think you can have gin with him
Thank you for the tip!
John! Let me borrow that 1485???
😅
i thought he would wear a better suit with this collection
🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
Mr. Reardon should try and purchase Trump's ellipse (might go up for auction soon?) and pair it with Saddam Hussein's. Maybe contact Rudy G to broker.
😃 Great suggestion!
Trump has a Piaget that looks like an ellipse
Never was a fan on PP they look like a standard 50 dollar timex the only one that really pops is the nautilus and thats ridiculously overpriced!!!! Just my opinion!!!!!
Thank you for your honest opinion!
worst collection ever
why do you think so?

The guy describing the pocket watch has dirty fingernails you would think he would have gotten a manicure🤔🤣
Don't know why this guy is so excited to show the watches. Look pretty normal to me. So still can't understand the value for the cost.
The golden ration stuff is kinda bs, because you can find it anywhere if you look hard enough...
