Public Health Career Paths: EIS - The Scientist

CAPT Aaron Fleischauer, PhD, MSPH, a Career Epidemiology Field Officer at the North Carolina Division of Public Health, knew early on he wanted to be in EIS. He says his 2 years as an EIS officer was an exciting time, responding to West Nile virus, monkeypox, SARS, and avian influenza outbreaks. For health professionals who want to learn how to be epidemiologists, he says EIS is a great opportunity.
