This is how I imagine how the 2 endings for the game were decided: “Alright team, we finished the game. Now we just need to work on the endings!” “Well, what do we do for the good ending?” “It’s simple, we make the characters celebrate the player for stopping the bad guy and saving the day!” “Then, what do we do for the bad ending, y’know when they don’t win?” “Oh, I know! Why don’t we show the player everyone sad and the island completely destroyed? I’m sure they won’t cry themselves to fucking sleep knowing they’ve plunged this once pristine colorful world into a now ruined and depressingly empty dystopia. They’ll be fine!”

It's funny - in the bad ending, the Brickster actually realises he's in the wrong, whereas in the good ending, they just lock him up again and he doesn't learn anything. So in the long run, the bad ending would be a _better_ outcome, since if the Brickster redeemed himself, it would mean peace on the island - whereas in the good ending, he stays just as resentful as he was in the beginning.
This is *SUCH* a trip; thank you for creating new childhood memories I never had, and rebuilding a couple real ones... though in actuality I imagined and pondered as a kid about what the heck was going on off-screen, why was there a green-color-outfit gardening worker character, et cetera at least somewhat, so I was maybe...10% accurate to the actual unused extended ending. 😆 This is so cool to see, I super appreciate you allowing us to finally see this, and I can also appreciate how grinding but most importantly *_even more_* traumatizing the game over could have been for the advertised age demo *as is* had it not be trimmed.

I'm able to stop in and read all of your comments from time to time, and apologize for being unable to respond to most questions. Main thing is that most of you seem to have enjoyed the game.
I'm pretty sure that what comes next as a sequel to the bad ending is that they might try to rebuilt only to realize that the tubular feature on the bricks is gone, making it impossible to rebuild. (Lego started without those tubular feature, so there was no grip to make more complexe build than houses or cars.
