First time I ever heard this version of this song. Incredible! Where are the Ray Price's today? We really need more singers like this. But, of course, Ray was one of a kind.
Always loved his music and I feel like he never got the recognition that he deserved. We've lost so many greats, Johnny, George, Merle and he was among them. God must have a terrific choir with Jim Reeves and Marty Robbins in there too. God Bless you all.
You sound like I feel my Mother loved to dance and those were some of our favorites. Willie is still here Merle was on tour with him when he got so bad he had to back off and and soon passed Willie is a great song writer all the time but for awhile he was in concert played a little more to a crowd of young folks who stand around and on the dance floor. But soon after Merle passed he has put out a couple of new albums and what I've heard is good one you have to listen to, losing loved ones is something we all go through sadly, but he wrote the best song About getting through, not over. Sorry got off point. You speak my language, must mention Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys. If you haven't listened to Merle an them doing a tribute to Bob and all his songs. George Strait and Alan Jackson have kept it real Country Music.
Ray is one of my all time favorites of country and western singers. His band is always the best of the best. I love this one. The fiddle player is making music as sweet as honey. These lyrics really hit home. Hard . Thanks for this treat.
listening to ray price is likei listening to two great singers in one man. he had such great knack fo surrounding himself with great musicisians. i feel there will never be another as good as him. he was great on the old stuff and the new. tc in tx.
Reminds me of my 1st husband. He's gone now. Why did I ever let him go? Thank God I did get the chance to give him the care he needed near the end. Our song was FOR THE GOOD TIMES.
We will never forget you Ray and we know how you loved fiddle playing. I know some of your fiddle playing buddies who were there waiting on you and God welcomed you with open arms.
This song has been one of my favorites for many years, and I have heard it sung by a number of great country singers, but having listened to Ray Price's rendition sung as only he can sing it, hands down is the best. What a voice; what an artist!
Prayers are keeping that man going right now, he just had a sepsis scare and is in the ICU but he seems to be recovering, what a tough man this guy is at.
What a great man. At one concert, he was very sick on stage but after the concert he still stayed to sign autographs. A few days later, I found out he was in the hospital with pneumonia. Great singer. Deeply missed.
i was listening to the "country" station in the car today & remembered so many great singers who are gone from us now & who no one can come close to... so pathetic for country music. when i was a kid we lived waaaay out in the hick sticks & we had poor rreception on the radio. we had to hold onto the erial i'm so glad that i lived to have heard such great singers in my life. always wished i could sing like some of them- but i never could... when i get to meet some of them in Heaven i can sing with them. i look forward to that...
This was when country music ruled the USA. Please can someone bring country back to its senses. "Murder On Music Row" George Strait & Allan Jackson. How true. mos60
He definitely is the best. The first song I ever danced to with my first husband was Georgia on my Mind. I still love that song. and any thing else he sang.
Grew up on Country and Western. Laugh at but i held to my roots. Ray, George, The Hag, Lefty, Hank Sr. we're the best. These new so called Country clowns can't hold a candle to these true Country Stars. Like George Strait and Alan Jackson sang, MURDER ON MUSIC ROW, these new stars did just that, they committed murder. Thankful the old stars stood up to them
Nashville dont know how to make music like this anymore , our loss !
Ray was always my favorite singer for years his music touches the ❤
I saw him in Dallas years ago. My mom listen to him when I was young. He was always a gentleman .
There will never b another Ray price he just had his own special way RIP Ray

Beautiful relaxing music

Ray Price knew the songs to pick that were perfect for his voice!! 🎶
What a wonderful singer…
This song was 100% plus for that voice--you are dead right.
The picture resides in my heart. The flame is still alive there.💜🐑
He sure had a signature voice!! He could sing one note--- you knew it was him! 💙
Love this song Ray sings it so well❤❤❤❤
The man with the velvet voice so smooth
Saw him in concert just a few years before his passing. He sang one song after the other no gimmicks....pure magic hearing that velvety voice.
Of all the great recordings of this beautiful song Ray is the best version ever,
Try Ivory Joe Hunter's version
Should be Ray's.
Dead on-- nobody could match him on this song
Just one of the best voices ever.
Absolutely
His so much more than I wish I had known him 😔😪
Yes! And he had that great voice, up until his passing.
Always loved his music and I feel like he never got the recognition that he deserved. We've lost so many greats, Johnny, George, Merle and he was among them. God must have a terrific choir with Jim Reeves and Marty Robbins in there too. God Bless you all.

+Tom Carter I can't do anything but agree with you, in my book he was the best and very under rated. There wasn't anything the man couldn't sing.
All of the great musicians wanted to play with Ray because his music is fun to play if you are a good musician. Especially steel guitar or fiddle.
I love Van Howard's harmony:)
Amen..... What a wonderful way to describe Ray Price... Never will be another quite like him! He's a Flame that Never will lose it's Glow!

It's incomprehensible to me that many today would find meaning in this beautiful song.
This is the version that runs through my head across the years. The way it's supposed to be sung.
This song has been one of my favorites for many years, and I have heard it sung by a number of great country singers, but having listened to Ray Price's rendition sung as only he can sing it, hands down is the best. What a voice; what an artist!

Great voice, loved his songs. He never received the recognition he should have gotten. He is missed, RIP.
I had the distinct honor of seeing Mr. Ray Price in the late 70’s, smooth as silk. What a show!
did Ray sing this well into his 80's? His voice sounds like a much younger man?
I also had the pleasure of seeing Ray mid 60s in Knoxville TN. great show & Ray sounds as good in person as on record, one of the few who do.
