I switched to this from an SUV. I can put gas cans, debree and other smelly stuf it in that i wouldn't put in my SUV. The mileage is great and i love the way it rides. I have the SEL non turbo. I have a tow packege and tow a 18ft fiberglass boat occasionally. It tows it fine but im careful to maintain space for stopping distance. It just feels a bit heavy for stopping quickly but i haven't really experienced any real issues. Yes the piano black is a bit irritating to keep clean but overall I like this vehicle. Ive had it for awhile now and have put 20,000 miles on it with no problems. Thanks for sharing.
Nice. Thanks for sharing your experience with your SEL.
@@Mr_Jack_Of_All_Trades_Thanks for your video !!Me and my wife just got a 2024 Hyundai Santa Cruz but right after we drove it for a day the check engine light came on the dash cluster and my wife took it back to the Hyundai dealer we got it from with only 58. miles on it brand new!! They checked it out and told us that it was a fuel tank charcoal box vacuum issue but it also could be some bad gas we got in it when they filled it up with gas!! That being said after they get it fixed I will indefinitely inform all of you how that goes!! So far they have not got back with us they said that it would take them up to 4 days to get the part and we still have not heard nothing back from them and that was a week ago hopefully it's not a big deal and they get the issue fixed I will let you know more about it when they actually fix the problem!! So far it has not failed us as far as going anywhere to go the engine light just stays on until the problem is solved!! Everything else has been working excellent it has all the high-tech features the SEL has all except the turbo and sunroof and the bed cover but we're going to have that installed and also a tow hitch receiver package as well remote start the dealer said that they know a guy that could do it professionally without voiding the warranty!! Hopefully they get back to you sometimes within the next few days!! Hopefully!! So far it's not an engine issue!! Thank God for that!! Happy with the Santa Cruz otherwise the minor little issue!! With the charcoal canister vent filter!!😳🤯😅👌
you did not say if the base model engine is peppy enough for the average driver or if it a bit too sluggish
I had a hybrid before. I think its peppy enough. Unless you are a V6/V8 driver then id say its not. But for a 4cyl its good with pep.
It's Donkey.@@Mr_Jack_Of_All_Trades_
I have the 2023 sel activety package,my car is mint and runs great .,I put carbon fiber inside my car making it looks awesome, keep your car clean inside & out.

I believe Hyundai has largely excluded wireless android auto/apple carplay to encourage people to use the bluetooth and navigation on the nicer systems. Personally, I prefer Hyundai's system. It works very nice (in my experience using android phones).
Didnt think about it that way.
Got mine last june 2022. I bought a 22 sel activity package. I chose to but the SC with the N/A motor rather than the turbo because they have to many problems from overheating problems to the transmission. I have 25k miles on mine and I absolutely love it!! Just change the oil every 4k miles is all im doing.
So you got a Non Turbo? I think Non is a better choice unless you’re Lighting McQueen..
@Mr_Jack_Of_All_Trad3s I could have gotten the SEL premium, but I prefer having an N/A motor due to me living in illinois. Turbos in 0 degree weather or colder just don't run the best. More problems can happen with it getting to hot and cooling down to quick. Plus most cars with the small baby turbos from factory have to get them replaced multiple times which is just a pain.
@@LettinOneRip nice. Can I ask you for some feedback on how you like the video?
@Mr_Jack_Of_All_Trad3s I like how you brought up a 2 tone color option. I thought about that a few times when I first got mine. Just an overall nice review of the SE version if you like to have a more physical button layout on the inside and not all computers. I have somewhat of an overland build going on with mine right now. I mostly use it for camping trips and hardware store runs. Don't need a full bed. It comes in handy like you said when. You need it.
Brotha solid review!!! Just what I wanted to hear, I have a Dodge Ram 1500 been waiting to trade it in for the Santa Cruz
I went to the Ford dealership and they had 2: $31,000 and $33, 500. Inside looked so cheap I'd be afraid things would break just using, like the center console. Flimsy plastic... And, the Maverick is super UGLY.
The two already sold?
No. They won’t be there long though. Just saying that they are pricey too.
good review. just purchased 2022 sel model with tow package. se and sel is about the right price for people to buy(new or used). imo higher trim is little expensive and may not be worth bang for the bucks.
Hey I'm looking at buying one of these adding a roll up tunneu cover, would you happen to have a link to the one you are currently using?

I have Chrome wheels its a baby doll and I love the look 2023 Black SEL 4WD.
Nice! Awesome you are loving it. One question, are you having issues with the AC smelling musty? Thanks for watching.
How's the DCT transmission on these vehicles?
I won't buy one until they fix this serious issue with the DCT.
Mine doesn’t have it but I’ve heard they are fixing them.
Serious issue? A handful have had problems. Get your facts straight!
@@greggeckert4700 are you a Hyundai mechanic? All the groups I follow, there seems to be a common trend and issue and thats the DCT taking a dump. The comments starts like this: At 20,000 miles I finally got the dreaded transmission code…. At 40,000…. At …….. 2023 models seem to be having this issue.
@greggeckert4700 for buyers who will fork out at least $40K plus on these vehicle is a serious issue that no one wants to be stucked with here in Canada.
Honestly, Santa Cruz SE's are just as much a unicorn in my area as a Maverick.
Good for the price! Hard to pass on a $28,000 “truck”.
Where did you get the bed cover I need one

Question: Can you stick a USB in it somewhere and watch a movie in it??
Edit: What life has taught me is, there is nothing like being independent. ❤
No
Why? If you watch movies as you drive you sure are independent, and not in a good way.
Yes you can, with Google Car Play.
